Book of Repentance
بَابُ قَوْلِهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم لَا يُنْجِي أَحَدَكُمْ عَمَلُهُ
Chapter: His ﷺ saying, "None of you will be saved by his deeds"
Al-Fath ar-Rabbani 10197 — His ﷺ saying, "None of you will be saved
(وَعَنْهُ مِنْ طَرِيقٍ ثَانٍ) عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ لَيْسَ أَحَدٌ مِنْكُمْ يُنْجِيهِ عَمَلُهُ قَالُوا وَلَا أَنْتَ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ قَالَ وَلَا أَنَا إِلَّا أَنْ يَتَغَمَّدَنِي رَبِّي مِنْهُ بِمَغْفِرَةٍ وَرَحْمَةٍ وَلَا أَنَا إِلَّا أَنْ يَتَغَمَّدَنِي رَبِّي مِنْهُ بِمَغْفِرَةٍ وَرَحْمَةٍ مَرَّتَيْنِ أَوْ ثَلَاثًا
(Second chain) The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: None among you will be saved by his deeds. The people asked: Not even you, O Messenger of Allah? He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Not even I, unless my Lord covers me with forgiveness and mercy from Himself; and not even I, unless my Lord covers me with forgiveness and mercy from Himself. He (peace and blessings be upon him) said this two or three times.
