Sunan Abu Dawud 2584 — Regarding Embellishing The Sword With Silver
حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْمُثَنَّى ، حَدَّثَنَا مُعَاذُ بْنُ هِشَامٍ ، حَدَّثَنِي أَبِي ، عَنْ قَتَادَةَ ، عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ أَبِي الْحَسَنِ ، قَالَ : كَانَتْ قَبِيعَةُ سَيْفِ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فِضَّةً ، قَالَ قَتَادَةُ : وَمَا عَلِمْتُ أَحَدًا تَابَعَهُ عَلَى ذَلِكَ .
Narrated Saeed ibn AbulHasan: The pommel of the sword of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ was of silver. Qatadah said: I do not know that anyone has supported him for that (for the tradition narrated by Saeed bin Abu al-Hasan).
