Definition of Magic and Its Components

What is magic?

Answer:

Imam Ibn Qayyim Rahimahullah said:
“It is a combination of the effects of evil spirits and the activation of natural forces by them.”

Imam Fakhr al-Din al-Razi said:
“In the terminology of Shariah, magic refers to anything whose cause is hidden, whose reality is contrary to its imagination, and which serves the purpose of showing off and deception.”
