وعن ابي الدرداء رضى الله عنه قال: قال رسول الله صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم: ‏‏‏‏إن الله يبغض الفاحش البذيء .‏‏‏‏ اخرجه الترمذي وصححه.

Abu al-Darda رضي الله عنه narrated that the Messenger of Allah صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم said: Indeed, Allah Almighty hates the foul-mouthed (those who curse) and those who speak indecent and filthy words.
This was narrated by Tirmidhi and he declared it authentic.
Authentication: There is some weakness in its chain, but the hadith is authentic otherwise. The complete narration in Tirmidhi

is as follows:

عن ابن ابي مليكة، عن يعلى بن مملك، عن ام الدرداء، عن ابي الدرداء، ان النبى صلى الله عليه وسلم قال: ” ما شيء اثقل فى ميزان المؤمن يوم القيامة من خلق حسن، وإن الله ليبغض الفاحش البذيء

The Prophet صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم said: Nothing weighs more in the scale of a believer than good character, and indeed Allah Almighty hates the foul-mouthed (those who curse) and those who speak indecent and filthy words.
Sheikh al-Albani said: Ya’la ibn Malik was not called trustworthy by anyone except Ibn Hibban, and besides him, no one narrated from Ibn Abi Malika. Therefore, Hafiz رحمه الله said it is “acceptable” meaning at the time of comparison. Sheikh al-Albani states that the last part:

وإن الله ليبغض الفاحش البذيء

has two supporting narrations as well. For details, see Silsilat al-Ahadith al-Sahihah

Vocabulary:
يُبْغِضُ Enmity (Baghz) is the opposite of love. Some people say that Allah’s love for a servant means He will reward him well, honor him, and some say it means He will punish him and disgrace him. However, everyone knows that these can be results of love and enmity, but love and enmity themselves do not mean this. Everyone knows the meaning of love and enmity as friendship and enmity. Many verses of the Holy Quran mention these attributes of Allah, and believing in them is obligatory. Those who interpret them differently believe that accepting that Allah loves or hates causes a deficiency in Allah’s majesty because these emotions exist among humans, and humans become powerless before the feelings of love and hatred. Therefore, they have allegorized Allah’s attributes, which in reality negates the original attribute of love and enmity because rewarding, honoring are separate attributes found in Allah, and love and enmity are separate, independent attributes.
As for considering love and enmity as attributes of Allah, it necessarily implies similarity to humans, while there is nothing like Allah. Therefore, we do not accept these attributes of Allah but interpret their meaning differently. The point to consider is that if love and enmity exist among humans, then good or bad recompense, honoring or dishonoring also exist among humans, so these should not be in Allah either, and their meaning should be interpreted differently. How far should one go in interpretation? It must be said clearly that Allah is free from attributes. However, Allah has made this matter very easy. He said:

لَيْسَ كَمِثْلِهِ شَيْءٌ وَهُوَ السَّمِيعُ الْبَصِيرُ

Meaning: There is nothing like Allah, and He is the Hearing, the Seeing.
Meaning: You hear and see, and Allah also hears and sees, but there is nothing like Allah. Your hearing and seeing are not the same as Allah’s hearing and seeing. Rather, Allah’s hearing and seeing are in a manner befitting His majesty. It is understood that to avoid similarity to humans, denying Allah’s hearing and seeing is not correct; rather, this is denial of the Quran itself.
Similarly, love and enmity are certainly attributes of Allah, but as befits His majesty. Not like creation, nor is He powerless before love and enmity like humans.
الْفَاحِشَ Fuhsh, Fahisha, Fahsha means a word or deed that is very ugly; adultery is called Fahisha for this reason. Severe stinginess is also called Fahsha.

الشَّيْطَانُ يَعِدُكُمُ الْفَقْرَ وَيَأْمُرُكُم بِالْفَحْشَاءِ

This is the intended meaning. Cursing and speaking shamelessly is also fuhsh. This hadith means the same.
الْبَذِيءَ Bazā’ is an adjective formed on the pattern of Fa‘īl. Indecent and filthy words are called Bazā’.
