❖ Question

Who were the scholars in favor of and against the creation of Pakistan?
The Barelvis claim in their books that the Wahhabis (Ahl-e-Hadith) were supporters of the British and opponents of Pakistan, while they (the Barelvis) opposed the British and supported Pakistan. So, what is the actual truth?

❖ Answer

Al-ḥamdu lillāh, waṣ-ṣalātu was-salāmu ʿalā Rasūlillāh, ammā baʿd!

◈ Among different sects and groups, there existed varied opinions on this matter.
◈ Within every sect, there were scholars who supported the creation of Pakistan and others who opposed it.
◈ The majority of the Ahl-e-Hadith scholars were in favor of the creation of Pakistan, not against it.
◈ Hence, it is incorrect to say that all Wahhabis (Ahl-e-Hadith) were supporters of the British or opponents of Pakistan, since renowned scholars of the Ahl-e-Hadith school of thought themselves supported the establishment of Pakistan.
