Question

Which deeds cause a person to enter Paradise without any reckoning? What are the evidences for this?

Answer

It is clarified in authentic ahadith that there are certain specific deeds by virtue of which some people will enter Paradise without any reckoning. One of the main evidences is the hadith found in Sahih Bukhari in which the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ said:

Text of the Hadith

“هُمُ الَّذِينَ لَا يَسْتَرْقُونَ، وَلَا يَكْتَوُونَ وَلَا يَتَطَيَّرُونَ، وَعَلَىٰ رَبِّهِمْ يَتَوَكَّلُونَ”

Reference: (Sahih Bukhari)

Translation:
“These are the people who neither seek ruqyah (spiritual healing), nor do they cause wounds for treatment, nor do they believe in bad omens, but they put their trust only in their Lord.”

Deeds of those who enter Paradise without reckoning

Not seeking ruqyah (لاَ یَسْتَرقُوْنَ)
These are the people who do not desire to have ruqyah done by others. They have complete trust in Allah and consider any healing subject to Allah’s will and power.

Not branding the body for treatment (لاَ یَکْتُوُونَ)
Such individuals do not brand their bodies for treatment purposes (which is called Kiyy), because they have complete trust in Allah’s power that He can heal without any specific treatment if He wills.

Not taking superstition (لاَ یَتَطَیَّرُوْنَ)
These people do not take bad omens or superstitions from anything. They stay away from the belief that anything can change their destiny, because they know that everything is under Allah’s power.

Complete trust in Allah (وَعَلٰی رَبِّھِمْ یَتَوَکَّلُوْنَ)
The most prominent action of these people is complete trust and reliance on Allah. They trust in Allah’s power in all matters and seek solutions to their affairs from Him alone.

Additional Evidence

In this hadith, the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ also said that 70,000 people from the Ummah of Muhammad ﷺ will enter Paradise without reckoning, and these will be their characteristics.

Summary

Those who have complete trust in Allah, do not resort to treatments like ruqyah or amulets, and do not believe in superstitions, are special servants of Allah who will enter Paradise without any reckoning. The fundamental point of these actions is tawakkul ‘ala Allah, that is, complete reliance on Allah.
