Islam invites humans to goodness, virtue, purity, and cleanliness, while forbidding every act that causes the wrath, displeasure, and curse of Allah Almighty. The Holy Quran and Prophetic traditions mention many such deeds upon which Allah Almighty, His angels, and creation send curses. The meaning of curse is: being distanced from Allah’s mercy, humiliation, disgrace, and eternal loss.
This article explains all those deeds with evidence upon which Allah’s curse has been revealed, so that Muslims avoid them and remain on the path of Allah’s pleasure.
Meaning and Reality of Curse
The famous Arabic lexicographer Imam Ibn Manzur writes:
(وَاللَّعْنُ: الإِبْعَادُ وَالطَّرْدُ مِنَ الْخَیْرِ، وَقِیلَ: الطَّرْدُ وَالإِبْعَادُ مِنَ اللّٰہِ)
Meaning, the curse means: being kept away from goodness and welfare, and being rejected by Allah Almighty.
Therefore, whoever is declared cursed, nothing remains for him in this world and the Hereafter except humiliation.
➊ Shirk and its Means
Iblis is the very first character who opened the doors of arrogance and polytheism. When Allah Almighty commanded the angels to prostrate to Adam (peace be upon him), Iblis became arrogant:
﴿وَإِنَّ عَلَيْكَ اللَّعْنَةَ إِلَى يَوْمِ الدِّينِ﴾
Translation
“And indeed, upon you is [the curse] until the Day of Recompense.”
This verse clarifies that polytheism, arrogance, and disobedience to Allah’s command are the fundamental causes of the curse.
Hadith
((لَعَنَ اللّٰهُ الْيَهُودَ وَالنَّصَارَى اتَّخَذُوا قُبُورَ أَنْبِيَائِهِمْ مَسَاجِدَ))
Translation
“May Allah curse the Jews and Christians who have made the graves of their prophets places of worship.”
This hadith makes it clear that making graves places of worship and worshiping through graves is a cause of polytheism and curse.
Similarly:
Hadith
((لَعَنَ اللّٰهُ مَنْ ذَبَحَ لِغَيْرِ اللّٰهِ))
Translation
“May Allah’s curse be upon the one who sacrifices an animal for other than Allah.”
Offering vows, sacrifices, prayers, or seeking help in the name of anyone other than Allah all fall under polytheism.
➋ Causing Harm to Allah and His Messenger ﷺ
Allah Almighty said:
﴿إِنَّ الَّذِينَ يُؤْذُونَ اللّٰهَ وَرَسُولَهُ لَعَنَهُمُ اللّٰهُ فِي الدُّنْيَا وَالْآخِرَةِ وَأَعَدَّ لَهُمْ عَذَابًا مُهِينًا﴾
Translation
“Those who harm Allah and His Messenger, upon them is the curse of Allah in this world and the Hereafter, and for them is prepared a humiliating punishment.”
Examples of harming Allah:
- ◈ Attributing offspring to Allah
- ◈ Associating partners with Allah
- ◈ Cursing the times
Hadith
((يُؤْذِينِي ابْنُ آدَمَ يَسُبُّ الدَّهْرَ، وَأَنَا الدَّهْرُ))
Translation
“The son of Adam hurts Me by cursing the times, while I am the times (meaning the affairs of the times are in My hands).”
Examples of harming the Messenger of Allah ﷺ:
- Insulting you ﷺ
- Cartoons and sketches
- Mocking the Pure Wives (Azwaaj Mutahharaat) رضي الله عنهن
- Insulting the Companions رضي الله عنهم
- Lying about you ﷺ
All these matters are causes of severe curse from Allah.
➌ Concealing the proofs of truth and guidance
The Quran clearly states:
﴿إِنَّ الَّذِينَ يَكْتُمُونَ مَا أَنْزَلْنَا مِنَ الْبَيِّنَاتِ وَالْهُدَى … أُولَئِكَ يَلْعَنُهُمُ اللّٰهُ وَيَلْعَنُهُمُ اللَّاعِنُونَ﴾
Translation
“Those who conceal the clear proofs and guidance which We have revealed… upon them is the curse of Allah and the curse of those who curse.”
Another verse on the same subject:
﴿إِنَّ الَّذِينَ يَكْتُمُونَ مَا أَنْزَلَ اللّٰهُ … أُولَئِكَ مَا يَأْكُلُونَ فِي بُطُونِهِمْ إِلَّا النَّارَ﴾
Translation
“Those who conceal the Book revealed by Allah… they are filling their bellies with fire.”
Hadith
((مَنْ سُئِلَ عَنْ عِلْمٍ فَكَتَمَهُ أُلْجِمَ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ بِلِجَامٍ مِنْ نَارٍ))
Translation
“Whoever is asked for knowledge and conceals it, on the Day of Resurrection a bridle of fire will be placed in his mouth.”
Actions Deserving of Curse
In the previous section, we mentioned major sins such as polytheism, harming Allah and His Messenger ﷺ, and concealing the proofs of truth, upon which Allah’s curse descends. In this section, more such major sins will be discussed about which clear curses have been mentioned in the Quran and Hadith.
➍ Dying in Disbelief
Whoever dies without believing, or dies as an apostate in disbelief, the curse of Allah is established upon him.
﴿إِنَّ الَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا وَمَاتُوا وَهُمْ كُفَّارٌ أُولَئِكَ عَلَيْهِمْ لَعْنَةُ اللّٰهِ وَالْمَلَائِكَةِ وَالنَّاسِ أَجْمَعِينَ ٭ خَالِدِينَ فِيهَا﴾
Translation
“Indeed, those who disbelieve and die while disbelieving – upon them is the curse of Allah and of the angels and of the people, all together. Abiding eternally therein.”
This verse proves that dying in disbelief results in eternal curse and everlasting Hell.
➎ Abandoning Enjoining Good and Forbidding Evil
Enjoining good and forbidding evil is the foundation of an Islamic society. Whoever abandons it deserves Allah’s curse.
﴿لُعِنَ الَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا مِنْ بَنِي إِسْرَائِيلَ … كَانُوا لَا يَتَنَاهَوْنَ عَنْ مُنْكَرٍ فَعَلُوهُ﴾
Translation
“The disbelieving people of the Children of Israel were cursed… because they did not forbid one another from evil deeds.”
Allah Almighty has also described the characteristics of hypocrites:
﴿الْمُنَافِقُونَ وَالْمُنَافِقَاتُ بَعْضُهُمْ مِنْ بَعْضٍ يَأْمُرُونَ بِالْمُنْكَرِ وَيَنْهَوْنَ عَنِ الْمَعْرُوفِ … وَلَعَنَهُمُ اللّٰهُ﴾
Translation
“The hypocrite men and women are alike; they enjoin evil and forbid good… and Allah has cursed them.”
These verses make it clear that forbidding good and allowing evil to spread is the path to curse.
➏ Severing Ties of Kinship
Breaking ties with relatives is a major sin and a cause of Allah’s curse.
﴿فَهَلْ عَسَيْتُمْ إِنْ تَوَلَّيْتُمْ أَنْ تُفْسِدُوا فِي الْأَرْضِ وَتُقَطِّعُوا أَرْحَامَكُمْ ٭ أُولَئِكَ الَّذِينَ لَعَنَهُمُ اللّٰهُ﴾
Translation
“Is it not a possibility for you that if you gain power, you will spread corruption on earth and sever ties of kinship? Those are the ones upon whom Allah has cursed.”
﴿وَيَقْطَعُونَ مَا أَمَرَ اللّٰهُ بِهِ أَنْ يُوصَلَ … أُولَئِكَ لَهُمُ اللَّعْنَةُ﴾
Translation
“Those who sever the ties which Allah has commanded to be joined… upon them is a curse.”
Cutting family ties causes destruction in families, corruption in society, and the wrath of Allah.
➐ Accusing Chaste Women Falsely
Falsely accusing adultery is a very major sin in Islam.
﴿إِنَّ الَّذِينَ يَرْمُونَ الْمُحْصَنَاتِ … لُعِنُوا فِي الدُّنْيَا وَالْآخِرَةِ﴾
Translation
“Those who accuse chaste, unaware, believing women are cursed in this world and the Hereafter.”
This verse indicates that the one who falsely accuses is cursed in both this world and the Hereafter.
➑ Drinking Alcohol – Curse on Ten People
The curse is not only on the drinker but on the entire system related to alcohol.
Hadith
((لَعَنَ اللّٰهُ الْخَمْرَ وَشَارِبَهَا وَسَاقِيَهَا وَبَائِعَهَا وَمُبْتَاعَهَا وَعَاصِرَهَا وَمُعْتَصِرَهَا وَحَامِلَهَا وَالْمَحْمُولَةَ إِلَيْهِ))
Translation
“Allah has cursed alcohol, its drinker, the one who serves it, the seller, the buyer, the presser, the one for whom it is pressed, the carrier, and the one to whom it is carried.”
also mentions the tenth person:
“The one who eats its price is also cursed.”
➒ Giving and Taking Bribes
Bribery is a means of oppression, therefore both parties deserve the curse.
Hadith
((لَعَنَ اللّٰهُ الرَّاشِيَ وَالْمُرْتَشِي))
Translation
“May Allah curse the one who gives bribes and the one who takes them.”
This curse is evidence that the one who takes bribes is also an oppressor, and the one who gives bribes strengthens the factory of oppression.
Actions Deserving of the Curse
In the previous section, sins such as disbelief leading to death, severing ties of kinship, slander, alcohol, and bribery were mentioned, upon which Allah’s curse is established. Now, in this section, more such actions are presented about which the Quran and Hadith have declared curses.
➓ Engaging in Usurious Transactions
Engaging in usury is a declaration of war against Allah and His Messenger ﷺ. All individuals who maintain the system of usury are deemed deserving of the curse.
Hadith
Hazrat Jabir رضي الله عنه narrates:
((لَعَنَ رَسُولُ اللّٰهِ ﷺ آكِلَ الرِّبَا وَمُوكِلَهُ، وَكَاتِبَهُ، وَشَاهِدَيْهِ، وَقَالَ: هُمْ سَوَاءٌ))
Translation
“The Messenger of Allah ﷺ cursed the one who consumes usury, the one who gives it to others, the one who writes the transaction, and the one who witnesses it. He ﷺ said: All of them are equal (in sin).”
It is clear from this that every person who becomes part of the usury system is cursed.
⓫ Stealing
Islam places great emphasis on the protection of wealth. Stealing is not only a crime but also a cause of curse.
Hadith
((لَعَنَ اللّٰهُ السَّارِقَ يَسْرِقُ الْبَيْضَةَ فَتُقْطَعُ يَدُهُ، وَيَسْرِقُ الْحَبْلَ فَتُقْطَعُ يَدُهُ))
Translation
“May Allah curse the thief; if he steals an egg, his hand is cut off, and if he steals a rope, his hand is also cut off.”
Meaning even a small theft is a cause of curse.
⓬ Men and women imitating each other
Women adopting the appearance, clothing, or style of men, or men resembling women— all of these are cursed.
Hadith
Narrated by Hazrat Ibn Abbas (RA):
((لَعَنَ رَسُولُ اللّٰهِ ﷺ الْمُتَشَبِّهِينَ مِنَ الرِّجَالِ بِالنِّسَاءِ، وَالْمُتَشَبِّهَاتِ مِنَ النِّسَاءِ بِالرِّجَالِ))
Translation
“The Messenger of Allah ﷺ cursed men who imitate women and women who imitate men.”
In another hadith it is stated:
((لَعَنَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ الْمُخَنَّثِينَ مِنَ الرِّجَالِ وَالْمُتَرَجِّلَاتِ مِنَ النِّسَاءِ))
Translation
“The Prophet ﷺ cursed effeminate men and masculine women.”
Third narration:
((لَعَنَ اللّٰهُ الرَّجُلَ يَلْبَسُ لِبْسَةَ الْمَرْأَةِ، وَالْمَرْأَةَ تَلْبَسُ لِبْسَةَ الرَّجُلِ))
Translation
“Allah has cursed the man who wears women’s clothing and the woman who wears men’s clothing.”
This is a clear directive that Islam strictly forbids any imitation against nature.
⓭ Performing or arranging Halala
Giving three divorces in one sitting is forbidden in Shariah, and thereafter making that woman perform “Halala” with another person is strictly prohibited and causes curse in Shariah.
Hadith
((لَعَنَ اللّٰهُ الْمُحَلِّلَ وَالْمُحَلَّلَ لَهُ))
Translation
“Allah’s curse is on the one who performs Halala and on the one for whom Halala is performed.”
((المُحَلِّلُ كَالتَّيْسِ المُسْتَعَارِ))
Translation
“The one who performs Halala is like a mortgaged bull.”
Meaning a very lowly and cursed act.
⓮ Insulting the Companions of the Prophet (may Allah be pleased with them)
The Companions of the Prophet ﷺ were the transmitters of religion, beloved companions of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, and well-wishers of the Ummah. Insulting them is a cause of the severest curse.
Hadith
((مَنْ سَبَّ أَصْحَابِيْ فَعَلَيْهِ لَعْنَةُ اللّٰهِ وَالْمَلَائِكَةِ وَالنَّاسِ أَجْمَعِينَ))
Translation
“Whoever insults my Companions, upon him is the curse of Allah, the angels, and all people.”
It is the protection of the fundamental principle of religion that the respect of the Companions is part of faith.
Actions Deserving of Curse
In the previous sections, we detailed the sins upon which the Quran and Hadith have pronounced curses. Now we will mention further actions which the Messenger of Allah ﷺ declared as causes of curse.
⓯ Giving refuge to a criminal
Giving refuge to a person who commits crime, innovation, or sin is strictly forbidden in Shariah and is a cause of curse.
Hadith
((لَعَنَ اللّٰهُ مَنْ آوَى مُحْدِثًا))
Translation
“May Allah curse the one who gives refuge to a criminal.”
⓰ Sending curse upon parents
Disrespecting parents is among the major sins. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ counted it among the major major sins (Akbar al-Kaba’ir).
Hadith
((لَعَنَ اللّٰهُ مَنْ لَعَنَ وَالِدَيْهِ))
Translation
“May Allah curse the one who sends curse upon his parents.”
The Companions asked: How can a person curse his own parents?
You ﷺ said:
((يَسُبُّ الرَّجُلُ أَبَا الرَّجُلِ فَيَسُبُّ أَبَاهُ، وَيَسُبُّ أُمَّهُ فَيَسُبُّ أُمَّهُ))
Translation
“He insults someone’s father, then in response, he insults that person’s father. And if he insults someone’s mother, then he also speaks ill of that person’s mother.”
Meaning, speaking ill of someone’s parents also leads to cursing one’s own parents.
⓱ Changing the boundaries (limits) of the land
Changing official or Shariah markers, boundaries, or borders of the land is oppression and corruption.
Hadith
((لَعَنَ اللّٰهُ مَنْ غَيَّرَ الْمَنَارَ))
Translation
“May Allah’s curse be upon the one who changes the boundaries and markers of the land.”
❀ Seizing land unlawfully
❀ Betrayal in inheritance
❀ Changing boundaries
❀ Causes disputes
That is why Shariah has declared it a severe sin.
⓲ Fulfilling desires in unnatural ways
Islam has permitted fulfilling desires lawfully through marriage, and has declared every unnatural way accursed.
Hadith — The act of the people of Lot
((لَعَنَ اللّٰهُ مَنْ عَمِلَ عَمَلَ قَوْمِ لُوطٍ))
Translation
“May Allah’s curse be upon the person who does the act of the people of Lot.”
The Prophet ﷺ said these words three times.
Hadith — Bestiality
((مَلْعُونٌ مَنْ وَقَعَ عَلَى بَهِيمَةٍ))
Translation
“The person who commits bestiality with an animal is accursed.”
Hadith — Anal intercourse with one’s wife
((مَلْعُونٌ مَنْ أَتَى امْرَأَةً فِي دُبُرِهَا))
Translation
“The person who commits anal intercourse with his wife is accursed.”
All these acts are against human nature, morally and legally forbidden, and deserving of curse.
⓳ Pointing a weapon at a Muslim brother
The sanctity and life of a Muslim are very respected. Raising a weapon against him—even without the intention to kill—is a major sin.
Hadith
((مَنْ أَشَارَ إِلَى أَخِيهِ بِحَدِيدَةٍ، فَإِنَّ الْمَلَائِكَةَ تَلْعَنُهُ حَتَّى يَنْتَهِيَ))
Translation
“The person who points a weapon at his brother, the angels keep sending curses upon him until he stops.”
Even if he is a biological brother.
⓴ Changing lineage or attributing oneself to someone other than one’s father
This is betrayal, a lie, and causes discord in families.
Hadith
((مَنِ ادَّعَى إِلَى غَيْرِ أَبِيهِ … فَعَلَيْهِ لَعْنَةُ اللّٰهِ وَالْمَلَائِكَةِ وَالنَّاسِ أَجْمَعِينَ))
Translation
“The person who attributes lineage to anyone other than his father, upon him is the curse of Allah, the angels, and all people.”
⭑ Committing crime or innovation in Madinah Munawwarah or sheltering a criminal
Medina Tayyiba is the special sanctuary of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ.
Hadith
((الْمَدِينَةُ حَرَمٌ … فَمَنْ أَحْدَثَ فِيهَا حَدَثًا أَوْ آوَى مُحْدِثًا، فَعَلَيْهِ لَعْنَةُ اللّٰهِ وَالْمَلَائِكَةِ وَالنَّاسِ أَجْمَعِينَ))
Translation
“Medina is a sanctuary… whoever commits a crime in it or gives refuge to a criminal, upon him is the curse of Allah, the angels, and all people.”
The sanctity of Medina holds a special status in Shariah.
⭒ Betrayal, breaking a pledge
In Islam, fulfilling a covenant is part of faith. Breaking the trust given by a disbeliever or a Muslim is a cause for curse.
Hadith
((ذِمَّةُ الْمُسْلِمِينَ وَاحِدَةٌ … فَمَنْ أَخْفَرَ مُسْلِمًا فَعَلَيْهِ لَعْنَةُ اللّٰهِ وَالْمَلَائِكَةِ وَالنَّاسِ أَجْمَعِينَ))
Translation
“The security of the Muslims is one for all… whoever breaks this security, upon him is the curse of Allah, the angels, and all people.”
Actions deserving of curse
This section presents matters about which the Messenger of Allah ﷺ stated a general principle that most things in the world are cursed, and at the end, it mentions the deeds of those women upon whom curses have come in the Ahadith.
Everything in the world is cursed except four things
Love of the world is the root of great trials. Being lost in the world and its pleasures, a person forgets the Hereafter. This reality has been explained very comprehensively by the Holy Prophet ﷺ:
Hadith
((الدُّنْيَا مَلْعُونَةٌ، مَلْعُونٌ مَا فِيهَا إِلَّا ذِكْرَ اللّٰهِ، وَمَا وَالَاهُ، أَوْ عَالِمًا، أَوْ مُتَعَلِّمًا))
Sunan Ibn Majah: 4112
Translation
“The world is cursed and everything in it is cursed, except the remembrance of Allah, or what is pleasing to Allah, or a scholar of religion or a seeker of knowledge of religion.”
This hadith reveals a great truth about the temporary and perishable nature of the world that every worldly occupation, if devoid of the remembrance of Allah and religion, leads a person away from Allah’s mercy.
Actions related to women upon which curse has been pronounced
The Shariah teachings regarding women are based on great wisdom. There are many actions that women consider trivial, while severe curses have been pronounced upon them.
Some women upon whom curses have been pronounced
Breastfeeding another’s child (wet-nursing), plucking facial hair, creating gaps between teeth for beauty
Hadith
Hazrat Abdullah bin Mas’ud (RA) narrates:
((لَعَنَ اللّٰهُ الْوَاشِمَاتِ وَالْمُتَوَشِّمَاتِ، وَالنَّامِصَاتِ وَالْمُتَنَمِّصَاتِ، وَالْمُتَفَلِّجَاتِ لِلْحُسْنِ، الْمُغَيِّرَاتِ خَلْقَ اللّٰهِ))
Sahih Muslim: 2125
Translation
“Allah has cursed the woman who plucks hair and the one who has her hair plucked, and the woman who creates a gap between her teeth for beauty, altering the creation of Allah.”
This also includes the principle that:
- ❀ If she does it herself, she is cursed
- ❀ And if she causes it to be done, she is also cursed
Artificial hair attachment or having it attached
Hadith
((لَعَنَ اللّٰهُ الْوَاصِلَةَ وَالْمُسْتَوْصِلَةَ))
Translation
“Allah has cursed the woman who attaches artificial hair and the one who has it attached.”
In the narration of Sayyida Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her), when the hair of an Ansari girl fell out, her family intended to attach artificial hair. The Prophet ﷺ clearly forbade it and said:
((لَعَنَ اللّٰهُ الْوَاصِلَةَ وَالْمُسْتَوْصِلَةَ))
This is a clear proof that wigs, hair additions, or extensions, etc., are all forbidden and cursed acts.
Tearing one’s collar, scratching the face, wailing
These are actions that women do emotionally during times of distress. These are manifestations of ignorance and deserve severe curse.
Hadith
((لَعَنَ رَسُولُ اللّٰهِ ﷺ الْخَامِشَةَ وَجْهَهَا، وَالشَّاقَّةَ جَيْبَهَا، وَالدَّاعِيَةَ بِالْوَيْلِ وَالثُّبُورِ))
Translation
“The Messenger of Allah ﷺ cursed the woman who scratches her face, tears her collar, and wails in destruction and ruin.”
This is against patience during times of calamity.
Refusing the husband’s call
The greatest right of a woman is to fulfill the rights of her husband. Refusal without excuse is a grave sin.
Hadith
((إِذَا دَعَا الرَّجُلُ امْرَأَتَهُ إِلَى فِرَاشِهِ فَأَبَتْ … لَعَنَتْهَا الْمَلَائِكَةُ حَتَّى تُصْبِحَ))
Translation
“When a husband calls his wife and she refuses, and he becomes angry and sleeps, until morning the angels curse that woman.”
Women who excessively visit graves
Hadith
((لَعَنَ رَسُولُ اللّٰهِ ﷺ زَوَّارَاتِ الْقُبُورِ))
Translation
“The Messenger of Allah ﷺ cursed women who excessively visit graves.”
Note:
❀ It is permissible for a woman to visit occasionally for reflection
❀ Provided it is done with proper hijab and patience
❀ Without wailing, screaming, or shouting
Women who wear semi-naked clothing and style their hair like a camel’s hump
This hadith presents an accurate picture of today’s times.
Hadith
((نِسَاءٌ كَاسِيَاتٌ عَارِيَاتٌ … رُؤُوسُهُنَّ كَأَسْنِمَةِ الْبُخْتِ الْعِجَافِ … اِلْعَنُوهُنَّ فَإِنَّهُنَّ مَلْعُونَاتٌ))
Translation
“In the end times, there will be some women who will be dressed yet naked… their heads will be like the humps of camels bent to one side… curse them, for they are cursed.”
“Kasiyat Ariyat” means:
❀ Thin clothing
❀ Tight clothing
❀ Clothing that reveals the shape of the body
This is against modesty and a grave sin.
In another narration, it is stated:
Hadith
((لَا يَدْخُلْنَ الْجَنَّةَ، وَلَا يَجِدْنَ رِيحَهَا))
Translation
“Those women will neither enter Paradise nor smell its fragrance.”
Actions Deserving of Curse
This last section includes important ahadith in which the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ mentioned the curse regarding certain conditions of the last times and the style of dress and fashion of women.
Women of the Last Times – Naked Clothing and Seduction
This hadith presents a very accurate picture of the present era:
Hadith
((صِنْفَانِ مِنْ أَهْلِ النَّارِ لَمْ أَرَهُمَا … نِسَاءٌ كَاسِيَاتٌ عَارِيَاتٌ، مُمِيلَاتٌ مَائِلَاتٌ، رُؤُوسُهُنَّ كَأَسْنِمَةِ الْبُخْتِ الْمَائِلَةِ، لَا يَدْخُلْنَ الْجَنَّةَ وَلَا يَجِدْنَ رِيحَهَا))
Translation
“There are two types of women among the inhabitants of Hell whom I have not seen… One are those women who are naked despite wearing clothes, who lead others into temptation and are themselves inclined towards temptation; their heads will be like the humps of bent camels. They will neither enter Paradise nor smell its fragrance.”
These are the women who:
❀ Wear thin clothes
❀ Highlight the shape of their bodies
❀ Style their hair for fashion or display
❀ Try to attract men towards themselves
The Prophet ﷺ gave a very severe warning about such women.
Conclusion
The greatest success for a Muslim is to live their life under the shade of Allah’s mercy, and to avoid all words and actions that cause Allah’s curse.
The meaning of curse is being distant from Allah’s mercy—and being distant from Allah’s mercy is the greatest deprivation in this world and the Hereafter.
Therefore, we should:
✿ Completely avoid polytheism, innovations, obscenity, and major sins
✿ Treat your parents, relatives, family members, and people of the society with kindness.
✿ Fulfill the rights of every trust such as government, land, wealth, and lineage.
✿ Do not hide the clear evidences of religion.
✿ Have strong hatred for sins like alcohol, usury, bribery, and adultery.
✿ Fully respect the sanctity of the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ, the noble Prophets, and the honorable Companions.
✿ Women should adopt modesty, hijab, obedience, and purity.
May Allah grant us a place in His mercy, protect us from His displeasure, and keep us safe from all these cursed deeds.
آمِین یا ربّ العالمین۔
