5 Virtues of Jumu’ah and the Hours of Acceptance of Du‘a

① Great Reward for Coming Early to Jumu’ah

Hadith – Abu Hurairah رضي الله عنه:
The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said:

“On the day of Jumu’ah, the angels stand at the doors of the masjid and record the names of those who come in order of arrival. The first person to arrive will have a reward like that of offering a camel in sacrifice, the next like offering a cow, then a ram, then a chicken, and then an egg. When the imam comes out for the khutbah, they close their registers and listen to the khutbah.”
(Bukhari: Jumu’ah, Chapter: Listening to the Khutbah: 929 – Muslim: Jumu’ah, Chapter: The Virtue of Coming Early: 850)

② A Special Hour of Acceptance on Jumu’ah

Hadith – Abu Hurairah رضي الله عنه:

“On the day of Jumu’ah there is an hour in which, if a Muslim asks Allah for something good, Allah will grant it to him.”
The Prophet ﷺ indicated with his hand that it is a very short time.
(Bukhari: Jumu’ah, Chapter: The Hour on Friday: 935 – Muslim: 852)

③ From the Imam Sitting to the End of Prayer

Hadith – Abu Musa Al-Ash‘ari رضي الله عنه:
The Prophet ﷺ said:

“It is between the time the imam sits (for the khutbah) until the prayer ends.”
(Muslim: Jumu’ah, Chapter: The Hour on Friday: 853)

④ Seek It After ‘Asr

Hadith – Jabir ibn ‘Abdullah رضي الله عنهما:
The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said:

“Seek it in the last hour after ‘Asr.”
(Abu Dawud: Salah, Chapter: The Hour of Response: 1048)

⑤ Between ‘Asr and Maghrib

Hadith – Anas ibn Malik رضي الله عنه:
The Prophet ﷺ said:

“Seek that hour on Friday between ‘Asr and sunset.”
(Tirmidhi: Jumu’ah, Chapter: The Hour of Response on Friday: 491)
