❖ Women’s March and the Real Issues Facing Pakistani Women ❖
❖ Foreign-Funded NGOs and Their Hidden Agendas
The objectives of NGOs funded by Western sources are no secret.
Organizations that rely on foreign financial aid are inevitably driven to promote the agendas of those very donors.
As the Western saying goes:
“There is no free lunch.”
Every form of aid comes with strategic strings attached.
❖ NGOs and Their Targeted Campaigns
Various NGOs are actively involved in agenda-specific missions:
✔ Working to abolish the death penalty
✔ Promoting propaganda under the guise of “freedom of expression”
✔ Advocating for minority rights with selective focus
✔ Seeking to dismantle blasphemy laws
✔ Pushing for transgender and women’s rights—often with distorted narratives
These campaigns are not coincidental, but part of a coordinated effort to dismantle traditional values and pave the way for Western cultural infiltration.
❖ The Real Issues Faced by Pakistani Women
The ordinary Pakistani woman faces challenges that rarely make it to the placards of the Women’s March:
◉ Struggles daily in overcrowded buses and rickshaws
◉ Is often underpaid for her hard work
◉ Is deprived of her rightful share in inheritance
◉ Lacks proper medical facilities during childbirth
Instead of addressing these realities, the Women’s March promotes irrelevant and often provocative slogans, creating the false impression that Pakistani women’s biggest problems are:
- Sexual freedom
- Refusing to cook
- Dress autonomy
- “My body, my choice”
❖ The Controversial Narrative of the Women’s March
Is the narrative presented in the Women’s March truly representative and genuine?
- On one hand, serious issues like sexual harassment are rightly raised
- On the other, slogans like “My choice” push the discourse toward another extreme
This raises a crucial question:
Are we witnessing a healthy ideological transformation, or a confused and misdirected movement?
❖ Focus Must Be on Real Issues Affecting Women
What is truly needed is a constructive and respectful approach that:
✔ Highlights women’s dignity, character, and capabilities
✔ Focuses on practical problems such as:
- Educated daughters being confined to homes
- Delayed marriages
- Mental and physical abuse in homes and offices
- Need for equal pay and a dignified workplace environment
- Providing home-based or online business opportunities for homemakers
❖ Don’t Turn Women’s Rights into a Controversial Agenda
When serious matters are reduced to vulgar placards and shallow slogans, the movement loses credibility and invites widespread criticism—often from women themselves, especially on social media.
❖ Religion and Women’s Rights
It is a mistake to assume that slogans like “My body, my choice” represent the true rights of women.
✔ The Qur’ān outlines women’s rights in clear and honorable terms
✔ The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ addressed women with love and respect
✔ Unfortunately, many cultural traditions influenced by Hindu customs are mistaken for Islamic practice
A small elite minority, through misleading slogans, has overshadowed the real struggles of ordinary women.
❖ The Way Forward
Pakistani women should be given the rights granted to them by Allah and His Messenger ﷺ, not those dictated by Western ideologies or donor-driven campaigns.
Only by returning to Divine guidance can we uplift women in a way that is both honorable and sustainable.
