4- What is meant by Usool ad-Deen (Principles of Religion)?
Usool ad-Deen is used in several meanings. Sometimes it is used to mean the pillars of Iman (faith) and Islam, sometimes it refers to the discussion of Aqeedah (creed), and sometimes it means those rulings of Islam that every Muslim is obliged to know, such as the prohibition of adultery and alcohol. Therefore, Usool ad-Deen is a term whose meaning varies according to those who define it.
