Unjustly Considering Something as False

The people of ignorance (Jahiliyyah) would reject the truth simply because they believed that if it were truly the truth, they themselves would have been the first to follow it. Allah mentions this attitude in the Qur'an:

"And those who disbelieve say of those who believe, 'If it had been good, they would not have preceded us to it.' And when they are not guided by it, they will say, 'This is an ancient falsehood.'"

[Surah Al-Ahqaf: 46:11]

Allah further states:

"Say, 'Have you considered: if it (the Qur'an) is from Allah, and you disbelieved in it, while a witness from the Children of Israel has testified to something similar and believed while you were arrogant, [how unjust that is]. Indeed, Allah does not guide the wrongdoing people.'"

[Surah Al-Ahqaf: 46:10]

This shows how unjust it is to reject the truth without reason, especially when others before have recognized and accepted it. Those who deny the truth based on arrogance and ignorance are not guided by Allah.
