Abu Tha‘labah al-Khushani (رضي الله عنه) narrates that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said:
"الجن على ثلاثة أضاف : صنف لهم أجنحة يطيرون فى الهواء، وصنف حيات وكلاب، وصنف يحلون ويظعنون"
"Jinn are of three types:
➊ A type that has wings and flies through the air.
➋ A type that appears as snakes and dogs, i.e., some jinn take on the form of snakes and dogs.
➌ A type that dwells on the earth and travels about."
