Question: My wife wanted to enter the state of Ihram for Hajj. Before leaving the bathroom and changing clothes, she cut some hair. What is the ruling on this?
Answer: There is no harm in doing this, and no expiation (fidyah) will be required from the woman. Because cutting hair is prohibited after making the intention for Ihram. However, she had neither made the intention nor donned the Ihram yet. Even if she had cut hair after entering Ihram due to forgetfulness or unawareness, no expiation would be obligatory on her; she would be considered excused due to lack of awareness.
