Instructions Regarding Ablution
① It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said:
“When a Muslim or a believer washes his face during ablution, every fault that he has committed by looking with his two eyes goes out with the water or the last drop of water from his face. And when he washes his hands, every fault that his hands have committed by holding goes out with the water or the last drop of water. And when he washes his feet, every fault that his feet have committed by walking goes out with the water or the last drop of water, until he (the believer) becomes free from sins.”
② It is narrated from Sayyiduna Uthman bin Affan (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said:
“Whoever performs ablution and does it well, sins come out from his body, even from under his nails.”
③ Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that I heard the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) say:
“The people of my Ummah will be called on the Day of Resurrection and their foreheads and hands and feet will shine because of the marks of ablution. So whoever among you can increase his brightness, let him increase it.”
④ It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them) that the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said:
“Whoever performs ablution again while still having ablution, Allah writes ten good deeds for him because of that.”
⑤ Sayyiduna Umar bin Khattab (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said:
“Whoever performs ablution and does it well, then says: I bear witness that there is no deity except Allah, He is One, He has no partner, and that Muhammad (peace be upon him) is His servant and Messenger. O Allah! Include me among those who repent and those who purify themselves.
For him, the eight gates of Paradise are opened, and he may enter through whichever he wishes.”
Imam Muslim (may Allah have mercy on him) did not mention
Prohibition of Leaving the Heels Dry During Wudu
① Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Amr رضي الله عنهما narrates that we were returning from Makkah to Madinah with the Messenger of Allah صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم until we came across water on the way. People quickly performed wudu for the Asr prayer. While we were still waiting, their heels were shining because they remained dry. Upon this, the Messenger of Allah صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم said:
“Woe to the heels that go to the fire! Perform wudu properly.”
② Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah رضي الله عنه narrates that the Prophet صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم saw a man not washing his heels and said:
“Woe to the heels that go to the fire!”
Prohibition of Praying Without Wudu
① Narrated by Sayyiduna Abu Huraira (RA) that the Messenger of Allah (PBUH) said:
“The prayer of a person who does not have wudu (ablution) is not accepted, and the person who does not say Bismillah while performing wudu, his wudu is not valid.”
② Sayyiduna Abu Huraira (RA) also narrates from the Holy Prophet (PBUH), who said:
“If a person’s wudu is broken and he does not perform wudu again, Allah does not accept the prayer of such a person.”
③ Abu Maleeh narrates from his father, who narrates from the Holy Prophet (PBUH), who said:
“Allah does not accept charity given from stolen wealth and prayer performed without purification.”
④ Sayyiduna Ibn Umar (RA) states, I heard the Messenger of Allah (PBUH) say:
“Allah does not accept prayer performed without purification and charity given from stolen wealth.”
