The Reward for Concealing a Muslim Brother’s Fault
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) said: “Whoever conceals the faults of a person in this world, Allah will conceal his faults on the Day of Resurrection.”
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) that the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said: “A Muslim is the brother of another Muslim; he neither oppresses him nor forsakes him to the enemy. Whoever fulfills the needs of his (Muslim) brother, Allah will fulfill his needs. Whoever relieves a Muslim of some distress, Allah will relieve him of some of the distress of the Day of Resurrection. And whoever conceals the faults of a Muslim, Allah will conceal his faults on the Day of Resurrection.”
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Darda (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) said: “Whoever defends the honor of his Muslim brother, Allah will keep the fire of Hell away from his face on the Day of Resurrection.”
Imam Al-Albani (may Allah have mercy on him) declared it “Sahih.”
