❖ The Prophet’s ﷺ Emotional and Physical State During the Khutbah
➊ Narration of Jabir (رضي الله عنه)
كان رسول الله إذا خطب احمرت عيناه وعلا صوته واشتد غضبه حتى كأنه منذر جيش يقول: صبحكم ومساكم
“When the Messenger of Allah ﷺ would deliver the khutbah, his eyes would redden, his voice would rise, and his anger would intensify, as if he were warning an army saying:
‘The enemy will attack you in the morning or in the evening!’”

This illustrates the deep seriousness and urgency with which the Prophet ﷺ delivered his sermons — full of passion, conviction, and warning.
❖ The Prophet’s ﷺ Gesture During the Khutbah
During his khutbah, the Prophet ﷺ would point with his index finger.

❖ Commentary of Imam al-Shawkānī (رحمه الله)
✔ Imam al-Shawkānī states:
➤ The apparent meaning of these narrations is that it is permissible to gesture with the finger during the Friday khutbah.
