What is the ruling on giving the Iqamah in a single (odd) form?
❖ Answer
If the Adhan is given in a single form, then the Iqamah should also be single, as this is Sunnah. There is consensus (ijma‘) on the validity of the single Iqamah, and the Hadith scholars consistently practiced it.
❀ Imam Muhammad ibn Nasr al-Marwazi (رحمه الله, 294H) said:
أرى فقهاء أصحاب الحديث قد أجمعوا على إفراد الإقامة.
“In my knowledge, all the jurist scholars among the people of Hadith are unanimous upon the single form of Iqamah.”
