❖ Ruling on Performing Salah in a Two-Storey Mosque

(Source: Fatāwā Arkān al-Islām)

Question:

If a mosque has two floors, and those praying on the upper floor cannot see the worshippers on the lower floor, is their prayer still valid?

Answer:

Alḥamdulillāh, waṣ-ṣalātu wa-s-salāmu ʿalā Rasūlillāh, ʾAmma baʿd!

If it is one mosque and all worshippers can hear the Imam’s Takbīr, then their prayer is valid and correct — even if they cannot see each other.
Being able to see one another is not a condition for the validity of Salah.
