Saying Āmīn Aloud: Is It Established from Ḥadīth?
Source: Aḥkām wa Masāʾil, Bāb al-Ṣalāh, Vol. 1, p. 171
Question:
“Is there any ḥadīth that establishes saying Āmīn aloud, or is nothing established in this regard?”
Answer:
Al-ḥamdu lillāh, waṣ-ṣalātu wa-s-salāmu ʿalā Rasūlillāh, ammā baʿd!
Yes, it is established.
Ḥadīth Evidence:
When the Messenger of Allah ﷺ recited “غَيْرِ الْمَغْضُوْبِ عَلَيْهِمْ وَلَا الضَّآلِّينَ”, he said “Āmīn” aloud, raising his voice with it. In another narration of al-Tirmidhī, it is stated that he ﷺ prolonged his voice when saying Āmīn.
