❖ Question:
Is it permissible to accept aid from polytheists (Mushrikeen) for the construction of a mosque? Additionally, is it allowed to sell the hides of sacrificial animals and use the proceeds for mosque expenses?
❖ Answer:
If a polytheist donates solely for the sake of Allah, then accepting such assistance is permissible.
It is noteworthy that before the Prophethood of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, the structure of the Sacred Ka‘bah was built by the polytheists using their own funds.
As for the hides of sacrificial animals, their rightful recipients are the poor and needy. This is explicitly stated in the Hadith, which affirms that the use of such hides should be restricted to the underprivileged.
