Recommendation of Shaping the Grave Like a Camel’s Hump

✿ Recommendation of Making the Grave Dome-Shaped (Like a Hump)
✍ Written by: Imran Ayyub Lahori

❖ It Is Recommended to Shape the Grave Like a Camel’s Hump

It is narrated from Hazrat Sufyan Thawri (رضي الله عنه) that:

أنه رأى قبر النبي مسنما
“He saw the grave of the Prophet (ﷺ) raised like a camel’s hump.”

📚 Bukhari: 1390, Kitab al-Janaiz: Chapter on What is Mentioned Concerning the Graves of the Prophet, Abu Bakr, and Umar

✔ Key Point:

The hump-like shape (i.e., a slightly raised mound) of a grave is Mustahabb (recommended), as seen in the grave of the Prophet (ﷺ). This style distinguishes the grave without excessive elevation or construction, and is in line with the Sunnah.
