Prohibition of fasting one or two days before Ramadan
Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) reported that the Prophet (peace be upon him) said: “None of you should fast one or two days before Ramadan, but if someone has been fasting on that day, then he should complete his fast for that day.”
Note: In light of this hadith, scholars say that fasting one or two days before Ramadan as a precaution is disliked.
And if later it is found that the month of Ramadan started one day earlier, and people did not fast on that day, then making up that day of fasting becomes obligatory.
