Hazrat Ali رضي الله عنه is the Commander of the Faithful.
Hazrat Anas رضي الله عنه says: The Messenger of Allah صلى الله عليه وسلم said to me: Soon, from this door, the Commander of the Faithful, the Master of the Muslims, the Leader of the Radiant Ones, and the Seal of the Successors will enter.
Imam Dhahabi did not narrate the entire story in Mizan al-I’tidal. I wish he had presented the full passage. Perhaps his tolerance was exhausted. As a result, he only quoted the initial words of the narration, and we also suffice with that.
Ibrahim bin Muhammad:
One of its narrators is Ibrahim bin Muhammad bin Maymun. I do not know who he is. He narrated this subject hadith.
Hafiz Ibn Hajar رحمه الله also did not mention this Ibrahim, which makes it clear that he is a fabricated figure created to present the narration.
Coincidentally, all the narrators in the chain of this narration are either weak or unknown. And it cannot be said about any one narrator that he is trustworthy.
Qasim bin Jundub:
The one who narrated it from Hazrat Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) is Qasim bin Jundub, who is an entirely unknown person.
Harith bin Hisrah:
The one who narrated this story from Qasim is Harith bin Hisrah, who belongs to the tribe of Azd. He is a resident of Kufa.
Yahya bin Mu’in says: He is a Khashabi.
Khashabiyah is a sect of Shias who, after the execution of Zaid bin Ali bin Hussain, took wood to die by fire and after failing, started worshipping that wood on which Zaid bin Ali was hanged. This sect is called Khashabiyah.
Abu Ahmad Al-Zubairi states that he believed in Raj’ah (return), meaning that Hazrat Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) was not killed. He was taken up to the heavens. He roams among the clouds and will return to the world again. Now that the reality of clouds has become clear to us, we have also understood the reality of thunder and lightning.
Ibn Adi states that his hadith should not be written because it is weak and he is among those people of Kufa who spread the plague of Shi’ism in Kufa. Zanj says that I asked Jarir, “Have you seen Harith bin Hisrah?” He replied, “Yes, he was very old in my time and used to insist on a big matter, that is, Raj’ah.”
Al-Daraqutni says: He is a ghali type of Shia.
The one who narrated from this Harith is Ali bin Abis Al-Azraq Al-Asadi Al-Kufi.
Ali bin Abbas:
Its narration is found in Tirmidhi.
Yahya bin Ma’in says: It is nothing.
Jauzjani, Nasai, and Azdi say: It is weak.
Ibn Hibban states that he makes obscene mistakes. For this reason, it was abandoned. He narrated that when this verse was revealed: «وَ اٰتِ ذَا الْقُرْبٰى حَقَّهٗ», the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) called Lady Fatimah (may Allah be pleased with her) and granted her Fadak.
Al-Dhahabi writes: This is false. If the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) had granted Fadak to Fatimah (may Allah be pleased with her), then why would she have come asking for anything?
Ibn ‘Adi states that its narration should be recorded as a matter of investigation.
Muhammad bin Uthman bin Abi Shaybah:
His last narrator who is transmitting from Ibrahim bin Muhammad bin Maymun is Muhammad bin Uthman bin Abi Shaybah. He is the son of Uthman bin Abi Shaybah, who, along with his brother, is well-known among the compilers of hadith.
This person is considered a Hafiz of hadith. He is a resident of Kufa. However, Abdullah bin Ahmad bin Hanbal stated that he is a liar.
Ibn Khurash stated that he used to fabricate hadith.
Matin stated that he is like the staff of Prophet Musa which swallows everything.
Barqani stated that he has always seen the hadith scholars objecting to him.
Ibn Uqdah stated that he heard Abdullah bin Usamah al-Kalbi, Ibrahim bin Ishaq al-Sawaf, and Dawood bin Yahya say that Muhammad bin Uthman is a liar.
