Salvation from Hell by Patience on the Death of Children
Abu Saeed Khudri (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said: If a woman among you sends forward three of her children, then those children will be a barrier and a shield for her from Hellfire. A woman asked: Does this ruling apply to two children as well? He replied: Yes, this ruling applies to two children as well.
Meaning, even if two children pass away, their mother will still be saved from Hellfire.
Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Prophet (peace be upon him) said: When a Muslim has three children who pass away, he will enter Hellfire only to fulfill a vow.
In the narration of An-Nasa’i, both Muslim husband and wife are mentioned.
Benefit: Entering Hellfire here means passing through it, as established by numerous narrations that every good and bad person, every disbeliever and believer, must pass through it, and this is what Allah Almighty indicates.
“Each one of you will pass over it.” (Meaning the Bridge of Sirat)
It is narrated from Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) that a woman came to the Prophet (peace be upon him) carrying a sick boy and said: O Messenger of Allah, I fear for his death, and previously three of my children have died. The Prophet (peace be upon him) said: You have made a strong shield to protect yourself from Hellfire.
Benefit: The glad tidings of Paradise and salvation from Hellfire are for those parents who are patient over the death of their children, and this applies to those parents who are Muslims, as is evident from the aforementioned hadiths.
