❖ 1. The Life of Imam Husayn رضي الله عنه in Light of Qur’an and Sunnah

◈ Husayn ibn Ali رضي الله عنهما was the grandson of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ.

◈ His father was Ali ibn Abi Talib رضي الله عنه, and his mother was Fatimah رضي الله عنها, the daughter of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ.

◈ Husayn رضي الله عنه was the nephew of the daughters of the Prophet ﷺ: Zaynab, Ruqayyah, and Umm Kulthum رضي الله عنهن.

◈ ‘Uthman ibn ‘Affan and Abu al-‘As ibn al-Rabi‘ رضي الله عنهما were his maternal uncles.

◈ ‘Umar ibn al-Khattab رضي الله عنه was his brother-in-law, as he was also the son-in-law of Ali رضي الله عنه.

◈ Husayn and Hasan رضي الله عنهما are the leaders of the youth of Paradise.

◈ In this world, they were beloved to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and described as his fragrant flowers.

❖ 2. The True Reality of the Incident of Karbala

◈ To understand the true nature of the incident of Karbala, one should study the work of Shaykh Muhammad Ataullah Hanif Bhojiani رحمه الله titled:
“Karbala Ki Kahani Imam Jafar Sadiq Ki Zabani” (The Story of Karbala as Narrated by Imam Ja‘far al-Sadiq).

❖ 3. The Virtues of Muharram

◈ Muharram is one of the four sacred months.

◈ Observing voluntary fasts in this month carries great merit.

◈ Especially, fasting on the Day of ‘Ashura expiates the sins of an entire year.

◈ These virtues were established long before the martyrdom of Husayn رضي الله عنه.
