Instructions Regarding Love for the Ansar
① Sayyiduna Baraa رضي الله عنه narrates, I heard the Messenger of Allah صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم speaking about the Ansar:
“Only a believer will love them and only a hypocrite will harbor hatred against them. So whoever loves them, Allah will love him, and whoever hates them, Allah will hate him.”
② Sayyiduna Anas رضي الله عنه narrates, the Messenger of Allah صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم said:
“Love for the Ansar is faith, and hatred for the Ansar is a sign of hypocrisy.”
Prohibition of Conveying Distressing Matters
① Sayyiduna Ibn Mas’ud رضي الله عنه narrates, the Messenger of Allah صلى الله عليه وسلم said:
“None of you should convey anything about any of my companions to me, because I want that when I come to them, my heart remains free from any kind of displeasure towards them.”
And in the narration of Tirmidhi Sharif:
“None of you should convey anything about anyone to me.”
Prohibition of Bearing Grudge Against the Companions
① Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Maghfal رضي الله عنه narrates, I heard the Messenger of Allah صلى الله عليه وسلم say:
“Fear Allah regarding my companions, fear Allah regarding my companions, do not target them after me. Whoever loves them has loved them because of my love, and whoever harbors enmity against them has done so because of his enmity towards me. Whoever harms them has harmed me, and whoever harms me has harmed Allah, and whoever harms Allah, soon Allah will seize him.”
