❖ Question

Shaykh ʿAbd Allāh Nāṣir Raḥmānī ḥafiẓahullāh narrated an incident:

When Sayyidunā Muʿādh ibn Jabal رضي الله عنه went to a man to collect Zakat, the due share was a بنت مخاض (one-year-old she-camel). The man offered a better and more valuable animal instead. However, Muʿādh رضي الله عنه refused to accept anything beyond the obligatory due.

Later, both went to the Prophet ﷺ, who said:

“If someone gives voluntarily and with happiness, then accept it.”

The question:
In which book is this incident recorded? And what is the status of its chain of narration (sanad)?
