حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ بَشَّارٍ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ مَهْدِيٍّ، حَدَّثَنَا إِبْرَاهِيمُ بْنُ نَافِعٍ الْمَكِّيُّ، عَنْ ابْنِ أَبِي نَجِيحٍ، عَنْ مُجَاهِدٍ، عَنْ أُمِّ هَانِئٍ قَالَتْ : " قَدِمَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ مَكَّةَ وَلَهُ أَرْبَعُ ضَفَائِرَ " أَبُو نَجِيحٍ اسْمُهُ يَسَارٌ ، قَالَ أَبُو عِيسَى : هَذَا حَدِيثٌ غَرِيبٌ ، وَعَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ أَبِي نَجِيحٍ مَكِّيٌّ .
‘With this chain also,’ a similar hadith is narrated from Umm Hani (may Allah be pleased with her). © Imam Tirmidhi says: This hadith is gharib (rare).
حَدَّثَنِي ابْنُ أَبِي عُمَرَ، حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ بْنُ عُيَيْنَةَ، عَنْ ابْنِ أَبِي نَجِيحٍ، عَنْ مُجَاهِدٍ، عَنْ أُمِّ هَانِئٍ قَالَتْ : " قَدِمَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ مَكَّةَ وَلَهُ أَرْبَعُ غَدَائِرَ " قَالَ أَبُو عِيسَى : هَذَا حَدِيثٌ غَرِيبٌ ، قَالَ مُحَمَّدٌ : لَا أَعْرِفُ لِمُجَاهِدٍ سَمَاعًا مِنْ أُمِّ هَانِئٍ .
Umm Hani (may Allah be pleased with her) says that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) came to Makkah in such a state that he had four braids. 1© Imam Tirmidhi says:
1- This hadith is gharib (strange/rare),
2- Muhammad bin Ismail Bukhari says: I do not know of Mujahid hearing from Umm Hani.
