Jami at-Tirmidhi 1214 — Permission to Buy Something on a Deferred
حَدَّثَنَا حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ بَشَّارٍ، حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ أَبِي عَدِيٍّ، وَعُثْمَانُ بْنُ عُمَرَ، عَنْ هِشَامِ بْنِ حَسَّانَ، عَنْ عِكْرِمَةَ، عَنْ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ، قَالَ : " تُوُفِّيَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَدِرْعُهُ مَرْهُونَةٌ بِعِشْرِينَ صَاعًا مِنْ طَعَامٍ ، أَخَذَهُ لِأَهْلِهِ " . قَالَ أَبُو عِيسَى : هَذَا حَدِيثٌ حَسَنٌ صَحِيحٌ .
'Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them) says that when the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) passed away, his armor was mortgaged for twenty saa' of grain. He had taken it for his family. © Imam Tirmidhi says: This hadith is Hasan Sahih.
