أَنْبَأَنَا عَبْدُ الْوَهَّابِ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْمَجِيدِ الثَّقَفِيُّ ، عَنْ حُمَيْدٍ الطَّوِيلِ ، عَنْ أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ ، أَنّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ نَهَى عَنْ ثَمَرِ النَّخْلِ أَنْ يُبَاعَ حَتَّى تُزْهَى ، قَالَ : وَمَا تُزْهَى يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ؟ قَالَ : " حَتَّى يَحْمَرَّ " .
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Anas bin Malik (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) forbade selling the fruit of the date-palm before it ripens. Ripening means the appearance of redness.
