حَدَّثَنَا سَعِيدٌ قَالَ: نا أَبُو شِهَابٍ، عَنِ الْأَعْمَشِ، عَنْ إِبْرَاهِيمَ، عَنِ الْأَسْوَدِ بْنِ يَزِيدَ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ،: «إِنْ كَانَتِ الْمَرْأَةُ لَتُجِيرُ عَلَى الْمُسْلِمِينَ فَيَجُوزُ»
Sayyidah Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) said: "Indeed, if a woman grants protection to the Muslims, her protection is valid."
Brief Explanation
If the "‘an" (from) narration of Al-A‘mash is supported by any other authentic chain or corroborating evidence, it becomes acceptable. Here, the subject matter—namely, the acceptance of a woman’s guarantee of protection—is also established in Sahih al-Bukhari (Hadith: 3170): « أَجَارَتْ أُمُّ هَانِئٍ رَجُلًا » The Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam considered her guarantee of protection to be valid. ➔ Therefore, the text is authentic.
