بَابُ مَنْ قَالَ: لَا تَتَمَنَّوْا لِقَاءَ الْعَدُوِّ، وَالدُّعَاءِ عِنْدَ لُقِيِّهِمْ
Chapter on those who said: Do not wish to meet the enemy, and supplication when meeting them
Sunan Sa'id bin Mansur 3700 — on those who said: Do not wish to meet
حَدَّثَنَا سَعِيدٌ قَالَ: نا إِسْمَاعِيلُ بْنُ عَيَّاشٍ، عَنْ أَبِي بَكْرِ بْنِ أَبِي مَرْيَمَ، عَنْ عَلِيِّ بْنِ أَبِي طَلْحَةَ، «أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ كَانَ يَسْتَحِبُّ أَنْ يَلْقَى الْعَدُوَّ بَعْدَ زَوَالِ الشَّمْسِ حِينَ تَهُبَّ الْأَرْوَاحُ»
The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) liked that the encounter with the enemy should take place after the decline of the sun, when the winds blow.
