بَابُ مَا جَاءَ فِي فَضْلِ الْجِهَادِ، وَإِنَّ الْحَجَّ جِهَادُ كُلِّ ضَعِيفٍChapter on what is reported regarding the virtue of jihad, and that Hajj is the jihad of every weak person
Hadith 3518

حَدَّثَنَا سَعِيدٌ قَالَ: نا أَبُو الْأَحْوَصِ، قَالَ: نا مُعَاوِيَةُ بْنُ إِسْحَاقَ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ بِنْتِ طَلْحَةَ، قَالَتْ جَاءَ رَجُلٌ إِلَى رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، فَقَالَ: أَيُّ الْعَمَلِ أَفْضَلُ؟ قَالَ: «إِيمَانٌ بِاللَّهِ، وَجِهَادٌ فِي سيبلِ اللَّهِ، وَحَجٌّ مَبْرُورٌ»
A man asked the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ): "Which deed is the best?" He replied: "Faith in Allah, striving in the way of Allah, and an accepted Hajj."
Brief Explanation
There is no narrator in the chain who is criticized or abandoned; the overall standard of the narrators is sufficient for a narration of the "hasan" (good) grade. Therefore: this narration is hasan in terms of its chain. And since this subject matter has also appeared in the Sahihayn (Bukhari and Muslim) through multiple authentic chains (such as the narrations from Sayyidah Aisha, Ibn Abbas, Abu Dharr, Abu Hurairah, etc.), for this reason, due to supporting and corroborating narrations (shawahid wa mutaba‘at), this hadith attains the rank of "sahih" (authentic).
