أَخْبَرَنَا سَعِيدٌ، نا هُشَيْمٌ، أنا دَاوُدُ بْنُ عُمَرَ، نا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ أَبِي زَكَرِيَّا الْخُزَاعِيُّ، قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: «لَأَنْ يُقْرَعَ الرَّجُلُ قَرْعًا يَخْلُصُ الْقَرْعُ إِلَى عَظْمِ رَأْسِهِ خَيْرٌ لَهُ مِنْ أَنْ تَضَعَ امْرَأَةٌ يَدَهَا عَلَى سَاعِدِهِ، لَا تَحِلُّ لَهُ»
The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "For a man to have his head wounded down to the bone is better for him than for a woman's hand to touch his body without marriage."
Brief Explanation
Benefit: This meaning has appeared in an authentic hadith with different wording: ✦ Sahih Muslim: «لَأَنْ يُطْعَنَ فِي رَأْسِ أَحَدِكُمْ بِمِخْيَطٍ مِنْ حَدِيدٍ، خَيْرٌ لَهُ مِنْ أَنْ يَمَسَّ امْرَأَةً لَا تَحِلُّ لَهُ» (Sahih Muslim, as a mawquf narration from Ma'qil bin Yasar radi Allahu anhu; some scholars have also narrated it as marfu‘). Therefore: The meaning of the text is established and authentic, even though this particular chain is mursal (weak).
