بَابُ مَا جَاءَ فِي نَفَقَةِ الْحَامِلِChapter: What is reported regarding the maintenance of a pregnant woman

حَدَّثَنَا سَعِيدٌ قَالَ: نا هُشَيْمٌ، قَالَ: أنا يُونُسُ، عَنِ ابْنِ سِيرِينَ، قَالَ: كَانَ يَقُولُ: " يُنْفَقُ عَلَيْهَا مِنْ جَمِيعِ الْمَالِ. قَالَ: كَانَ ذَلِكَ رَأْيَهُ، حَتَّى وَلِيَ تَرِكَةَ ابْنِ أَخٍ لَهُ , تَرَكَ أُمَّ وَلَدٍ لَهُ وَهِيَ حَامِلٌ , فَكَرِهَ أَنْ يَعْمَلَ فِيهَا بِرَأْيِهِ , فَأَرْسَلَ إِلَى عَبْدِ الْمَلِكِ بْنِ يَعْلَى قَاضِي الْبَصْرَةِ، فَسَأَلَهُ عَنْ ذَلِكَ، فَقَالَ: لَا نَفَقَةَ لَهَا "
Hushaym narrated to us, he said: Yunus narrated to us, from Ibn Sirin, he said: He used to say: "She is to be provided for from all of the wealth." He said: That was his opinion, until he was put in charge of the inheritance of a nephew of his, who left behind an umm walad who was pregnant. He disliked to act upon his own opinion in her case, so he sent to Abd al-Malik ibn Ya'la, the judge of Basra, and asked him about that. He said: "There is no maintenance for her."
