سَعِيدٌ قَالَ: نا هُشَيْمٌ، قَالَ: أنا ابْنُ أَبِي لَيْلَى، عَنِ الشَّعْبِيِّ، أَنَّ عُمَرَ، وَابْنَ مَسْعُودٍ «أَشْرَكَا بَيْنَهُمْ»
Sayyiduna Umar and Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Mas'ud (may Allah be pleased with them both) included brothers and sisters (in inheritance).
Brief Explanation
The chain of narration is mursal and weak, but it can be considered reliable in support of the statement of a Companion (athar-e-sahabi). There is disagreement among the juristic schools (fiqhi madhahib) regarding statements of this type, but the statements of Umar and Ibn Mas'ud (radi Allahu anhuma) carry weight.
