الْآيَةُ (42) قَوْلُهُ تَعَالَى: {وَقَالَ لِلَّذِي ظَنَّ أَنَّهُ نَاجٍ مِنْهُمَا اذْكُرْنِي عِنْدَ رَبِّكَ فَأَنْسَاهُ الشَّيْطَانُ ذِكْرَ رَبِّهِ فَلَبِثَ فِي السِّجْنِ بِضْعَ سِنِينَ}
Verse (42) His saying, Exalted is He: {And he said to the one whom he thought would be saved, "Mention me before your master." But Satan made him forget the mention [to] his master, and Joseph remained in prison several years}
Sunan Sa'id bin Mansur 1125 — Verse (42) His saying, Exalted is He
حَدَّثَنَا سَعِيدٌ قَالَ: نَا أَبُو عَوَانَةَ، عَنْ مُغِيرَةَ، عَنْ إِبْرَاهِيمَ، فِي قِرَاءَةِ عَبْدِ اللهِ: { بِضْعَ سِنِينَ } - قَرِيبًا .
It is narrated from Ibrahim (may Allah have mercy on him) that Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Mas'ud (may Allah be pleased with him), when reciting "بِضْعَ سِنِينَ" (a few years), would interpret its meaning as "near."
