باب: من قال: لا تكسر عظام العقيقة ويأكل أهلها منها ويتصدقون ويهدون
Those who said: the bones of the aqiqah are not broken, and its family eat from it, give it in charity and give it as gifts

رَوَى أَبُو دَاوُدَ فِي الْمَرَاسِيلِ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ الْعَلَاءِ، عَنْ حَفْصٍ، عَنْ جَعْفَرِ بْنِ مُحَمَّدٍ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ فِي الْعَقِيقَةِ الَّتِي عَقَّتْهَا فَاطِمَةُ عَنِ الْحَسَنِ وَالْحُسَيْنِ عَلَيْهِمُ السَّلَامُ أَنْ يَبْعَثُوا إِلَى الْقَابِلَةِ مِنْهَا بِرِجْلٍ، وَكُلُوا وَأَطْعِمُوا وَلَا تَكْسِرُوا مِنْهَا عَظْمًا. أَخْبَرَنَاهُ أَبُو بَكْرٍ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ، أنبأ أَبُو الْحُسَيْنِ الدَّاوُدِيُّ، ثنا أَبُو عَلِيٍّ اللُّؤْلُؤِيُّ، ثنا أَبُو دَاوُدَ فَذَكَرَهُ.
Ja'far bin Muhammad narrates from his father that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said about the aqiqah that Sayyidah Fatimah (may Allah be pleased with her) performed on behalf of Hasan and Husayn (may Allah be pleased with them both): "Send one leg of it to the midwife, eat and feed others, and do not break any of its bones."
أَخْبَرَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ عَبْدَانَ، أنبأ أَحْمَدُ بْنُ عُبَيْدٍ، ثنا عُثْمَانُ بْنُ عُمَرَ، ثنا مُسَدَّدٌ، ثنا عَبْدُ الْوَارِثِ، عَنْ عَامِرٍ الْأَحْوَلِ، عَنْ عَطَاءٍ، عَنْ أُمِّ كُرْزٍ رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهَا قَالَتْ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: " عَنِ الْغُلَامِ شَاتَانِ مُكَافَأَتَانِ، وَعَنِ الْجَارِيَةِ شَاةٌ ". قَالَ: وَكَانَ عَطَاءٌ يَقُولُ: ⦗٥٠٩⦘ تُقْطَعُ جُدُولًا وَلَا يُكْسَرُ لَهَا عَظْمٌ. أَظُنُّهُ قَالَ: وَيُطْبَخُ. قَالَ: وَقَالَ عَطَاءٌ: إِذَا ذَبَحْتَ فَقُلْ: بِسْمِ اللهِ وَاللهُ أَكْبَرُ، هَذِهِ عَقِيقَةُ فُلَانٍ. وَفِي رِوَايَةِ ابْنِ جُرَيْجٍ عَنْ عَطَاءٍ أَنَّهُ قَالَ فِي الْعَقِيقَةِ: يَقْطَعُ آرَابًا آرَابًا، وَيَطْبُخُ بِمَاءٍ وَمِلْحٍ، وَيُهْدِي فِي الْجِيرَانِ. وَرُوِيَ فِي ذَلِكَ عَنْ جَابِرِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللهِ مِنْ قَوْلِهِ.
Sayyidah Umm Kurz (may Allah be pleased with her) says that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "For a boy, two equal goats, and for a girl, one goat, as aqiqah."
Ata says: The meat should be cut into joints, but no bone should be broken; it should be cooked, and at the time of slaughter one should say: 'Bismillah wallahu akbar, hadhihi aqiqatu fulan' (In the name of Allah, and Allah is the Greatest; this is the aqiqah of so-and-so). The meat should be cut into pieces, cooked with water and salt, and distributed among the neighbours.
