أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو طَاهِرٍ الْفَقِيهُ، أنبأ أَبُو بَكْرٍ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْحُسَيْنِ الْقَطَّانُ، ثنا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ يُوسُفَ السُّلَمِيُّ، ثنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يُوسُفَ، قَالَ: ذَكَرَ سُفْيَانُ، عَنْ سُهَيْلِ بْنِ أَبِي صَالِحٍ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهُ قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: " إِذَا لَقِيتُمُ الْمُشْرِكِينَ فِي الطَّرِيقِ فَلَا تَبْدءُوهُمْ بِالسَّلَامِ وَاضْطَرُّوهُمْ إِلَى أَضْيَقِهِ ". أَخْرَجَهُ مُسْلِمٌ مِنْ وَجْهٍ آخَرَ عَنْ سُفْيَانَ.
Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him) says that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "When you meet the polytheists on the road, do not greet them first, and force them to the narrowest part of it."
وَأَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو طَاهِرٍ الزِّيَادِيُّ، أنبأ حَاجِبُ بْنُ أَحْمَدَ الطُّوسِيُّ، ثنا عَبْدُ الرَّحِيمِ بْنُ مُنِيبٍ، ثنا جَرِيرُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْحَمِيدِ، أنبأ سُهَيْلُ بْنُ أَبِي صَالِحٍ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، ⦗٣٤٣⦘ عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهُ قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: " إِذَا لَقِيتُمُوهُمْ فَلَا تَبْدَءُوهُمْ بِالسَّلَامِ، وَاضْطَرُّوهُمْ إِلَى أَضْيَقِ الطَّرِيقِ ". قَالَ هَذَا لِلنَّصَارَى فِي النَّعْتِ، وَنَحْنُ نَرَاهُ لِلْمُشْرِكِينَ. رَوَاهُ مُسْلِمٌ فِي الصَّحِيحِ عَنْ زُهَيْرِ بْنِ حَرْبٍ، عَنْ جَرِيرٍ.
Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him) says that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "When you meet them, do not begin with the greeting, and force them to the narrowest part of the road." The narrator says: This was a description of the Christians, and we regard it as applying to the polytheists.
