Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) said that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "The Arabs are equals (kuf') of one another: one tribe is the equal of another in terms of tribe and lineage, and a man of a man; and the slaves are equals of one another in terms of tribe and in terms of men, except the weaver and the barber."
This chain is broken (munqati') between Shuja' and Ibn Jurayj, since Shuja' did not name his companion. Uthman bin Abd al-Rahman narrated it from Ali bin Urwah al-Dimashqi, from Ibn Jurayj, from Nafi', from Ibn Umar, and that is weak; it was also narrated through another route from Nafi', and that too is extremely weak.
