أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو الْقَاسِمِ زَيْدُ بْنُ أَبِي هَاشِمٍ الْعَلَوِيُّ، وَأَبُو الْقَاسِمِ عَبْدُ الْوَاحِدِ بْنُ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ النَّجَّارِ الْمُقْرِئُ بِالْكُوفَةِ قَالَا: أنبأ أَبُو جَعْفَرٍ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَلِيِّ بْنِ دُحَيْمٍ، ثنا إِبْرَاهِيمُ بْنُ إِسْحَاقَ الْقَاضِي، ثنا قَبِيصَةُ، عَنْ سُفْيَانَ، عَنِ الْأَجْلَحِ، عَنِ الشَّعْبِيِّ قَالَ: لَمَّا قَدِمَ جَعْفَرٌ رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهُ مِنَ الْحَبَشَةِ ضَمَّهُ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، وَقَبَّلَ مَا بَيْنَ عَيْنَيْهِ وَقَالَ: " مَا أَدْرِي بِأَيِّهِمَا أَنَا أَشَدُّ فَرَحًا فَتْحِ خَيْبَرَ، أَوْ قُدُومِ جَعْفَرٍ "، هَذَا مُرْسَلٌ.
When Ja'far (may Allah be pleased with him) came from Abyssinia, the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) embraced him and kissed him between his eyes, and said: "I do not know which of the two makes me happier: the conquest of Khaybar or the arrival of Ja'far."

وَحَدَّثَنَا أَبُو سَعْدٍ الزَّاهِدُ، أنبأ عَلِيُّ بْنُ بُنْدَارٍ الصُّوفِيُّ، أنبأ عَبْدَانٌ الْجَوَالِيقِيُّ، ثنا خَلِيفَةُ بْنُ خَيَّاطٍ، ثنا زِيَادُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللهِ، ثنا مُجَالِدُ بْنُ سَعِيدٍ، عَنْ عَامِرٍ الشَّعْبِيِّ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ جَعْفَرٍ قَالَ: " لَمَّا قَدِمَ جَعْفَرٌ مِنَ الْحَبَشَةِ اسْتَقْبَلَهُ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَقَبَّلَهُ "، وَالْمَحْفُوظُ هُوَ الْأَوَّلُ مُرْسَلٌ.
Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Ja'far (may Allah be pleased with them both) said: When Ja'far came from Abyssinia, the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) went out to receive him and kissed him.
