Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) said: I have not seen anything more resembling minor sins (al-lamam) than what Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated: The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Allah has written for the son of Adam his share of zina (fornication), which he will inevitably commit. The zina of the eyes is looking, the zina of the tongue is speaking, the zina of the soul is wishing and desiring, and the private part confirms that or denies it."

Sayyiduna Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates from the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) that he (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "The son of Adam's share of zina has been written for him, and he will inevitably meet it. The eyes: their zina is looking; the ears: their zina is listening; the tongue: its zina is speech; the hand: its zina is seizing; the foot: its zina is the steps it takes; and the heart yearns and wishes, and the private part confirms that or denies it."

Sayyiduna Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him) said: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Every son of Adam has his share of zina. The eyes commit zina, and their zina is looking; the hands commit zina, and their zina is seizing; the feet commit zina, and their zina is walking; the mouth commits zina, and its zina is kissing; and the heart intends or wishes, and the private part confirms that or denies it." Abu Hurayrah bore witness to this, that he heard it and saw it.

It is narrated from Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) seated Fadl bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with him) behind him, and he (peace and blessings be upon him) stoned the Jamrah. A young girl from the tribe of Khath'am came and said: O Prophet of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him)! My father is an old man, he has become senile, and the obligation of Hajj is due upon him. If I perform Hajj on his behalf, will it suffice? He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Perform Hajj on his behalf," and he turned the neck of Fadl bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with him) away. Al-Abbas (may Allah be pleased with him) said: O Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him)! Why did you turn the neck of your cousin? He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "I saw that he was young and the girl was young too, and I did not feel safe from Satan regarding them."

Abu Sa'id al-Khudri (may Allah be pleased with him) said that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Beware of sitting in the streets." They said: O Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him)! We have no alternative; we sit (there) and talk. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "If you refuse (to give it up), then give the road its right." The Companions (may Allah be pleased with them) asked: What is its right? He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Lowering the gaze, refraining from causing harm, returning the greeting of salam, enjoining good and forbidding evil."
