Sayyiduna Anas bin Malik (may Allah be pleased with him) said: I used to serve Sayyiduna Abu Ubaydah, Sayyiduna Abu Talhah and Sayyiduna Ubayy bin Ka'b (may Allah be pleased with them) a drink made from unripe dates and dates. Suddenly someone came and informed them that wine had been made forbidden. Sayyiduna Abu Talhah (may Allah be pleased with him) said: O Anas, get up and break these jars. Sayyiduna Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) said: I got up and went to a stone mortar of ours and struck the jars with its bottom until they broke.

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Salamah bin al-Akwa' (may Allah be pleased with him) that when Khaybar was conquered, in the evening the Companions (may Allah be pleased with them) began lighting fires. the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Why are you lighting these fires?" They replied: To cook donkey meat. the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Throw it away and break the pots." A man from the people stood up and said: Shall we throw away the meat and wash the pots and keep them? He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Do that, then."
