Sayyiduna Abu Sa'id al-Khudri (may Allah be pleased with him) says that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) "forbade two kinds of dress and two sales. Of the sales, one is al-mulamasah and the other is al-munabadhah. Mulamasah: a man touching the other's garment with his hand, by night or by day, without turning it over. Munabadhah: a man throws a garment to the other, and their deal is settled without looking and without mutual consent. And the two kinds of dress are: ishtimal al-samma', which is that a man puts the garment over one of his shoulders so that one of his sides is exposed with no garment on it; and the other dress is that a man sits wrapped in his garment with his knees drawn up in such a way that his private parts are exposed."
