Abdullah bin Shaddad bin al-Had (may Allah have mercy on him) said: We came to Sayyidah Aishah (may Allah be pleased with her), and she said: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) came to me, and he (peace and blessings be upon him) saw silver bracelets on my hand and said: "O Aishah, what is this?" I said: I had them made to adorn myself for you, O Messenger of Allah. He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Do you pay their zakah?" I said: No, or I said: Whatever Allah wills. He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "They are enough for you of the Fire."

Amr bin Shu'ayb narrated from his father, from his grandfather (Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Amr bin al-As, may Allah be pleased with them both), that a woman came to the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) with her daughter, and on her daughter's hand were two thick gold bangles. He (peace and blessings be upon him) said to the woman: "Do you pay the zakah on these?" She said: No. He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Would it please you that, in exchange for them, you are made to wear bangles of fire on the Day of Resurrection?" The narrator said: She quickly pulled off both bangles, placed them before the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), and said: They are for Allah and His Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him).
