أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو عَبْدِ اللهِ الْحَافِظُ، أنبأ أَبُو الْعَبَّاسِ النَّيْسَابُورِيُّ، بِمَرْوَ، ثنا أَبُو الْمُوَجَّهِ، ثنا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ يُونُسَ، ثنا ابْنُ أَبِي ذِئْبٍ، عَنْ سَعِيدٍ الْمَقْبُرِيِّ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: " إِنَّكُمْ سَتَحْرِصُونَ عَلَى الْإِمَارَةِ، وَإِنَّهَا سَتَكُونُ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ حَسْرَةً وَنَدَامَةً، فَنِعْمَتِ الْمُرْضِعَةُ، وَبِئْسَتِ الْفَاطِمَةُ ". رَوَاهُ الْبُخَارِيُّ فِي الصَّحِيحِ عَنْ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ يُونُسَ.
Sayyiduna Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him) reports that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "You will surely be eager for leadership, and on the Day of Resurrection it will be a cause of regret and remorse for you. How good is the wet-nurse, and how bad is the weaning one!"
أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو طَاهِرٍ الْفَقِيهُ، أنبأ أَبُو بَكْرٍ الْقَطَّانُ، ثنا عَلِيُّ بْنُ الْحَسَنِ الْهِلَالِيُّ، ثنا أَبُو عَاصِمٍ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَجْلَانَ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: " مَا مِنْ أَمِيرِ عَشِيرَةٍ إِلَّا يُؤْتَى بِهِ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ مَغْلُولًا حَتَّى يَفُكَّ عَنْهُ الْعَدْلُ أَوْ يُنْفِقَهُ الْجَوْرُ ". قَالَ: فَقَالَ بَعْضُهُمْ: " يُوبِقَهُ الْجَوْرُ ".
Sayyiduna Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him) reports from the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him): "Every leader of a clan will be brought on the Day of Resurrection shackled, and his justice will set him free or his injustice will destroy him." Some mentioned the wording 'yubiquhu al-jawr' (his injustice will destroy him) (the meaning is the same).
أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو الْحُسَيْنِ بْنُ الْفَضْلِ الْقَطَّانُ بِبَغْدَادَ، أنبأ عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ، ثنا يَعْقُوبُ بْنُ سُفْيَانَ، ثنا أَبُو عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ الْمُقْرِئُ، ثنا سَعِيدُ بْنُ أَبِي أَيُّوبَ، عَنْ عُبَيْدِ اللهِ بْنِ أَبِي جَعْفَرٍ، عَنْ سَالِمِ بْنِ أَبِي سَالِمٍ الْجَيْشَانِيِّ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، عَنْ أَبِي ذَرٍّ أَنَّهُ قَالَ: قَالَ لِي رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: " يَا أَبَا ذَرٍّ، إِنِّي أَرَاكَ ضَعِيفًا، وَإِنِّي أُحِبُّ لَكَ مَا أُحِبُّ لِنَفْسِي، لَا تَأَمَّرَنَّ عَلَى اثْنَيْنِ، وَلَا تَوَلَّيَنَّ مَالَ يَتِيمٍ ". رَوَاهُ مُسْلِمٌ فِي الصَّحِيحِ عَنْ زُهَيْرِ بْنِ حَرْبٍ وَغَيْرِهِ عَنِ الْمُقْرِئِ.
Sayyiduna Abu Dharr (may Allah be pleased with him) relates that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said to me: "O Abu Dharr! I see you as weak, and I love for you what I love for myself. Do not become a leader even over two people, and do not take charge of an orphan's wealth."
