Sayyiduna Uthman bin Abi al-As (may Allah be pleased with him) says that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said to me: "Lead your people in prayer." I said: "O Messenger of Allah! I feel something within myself." He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Come close." Then he (peace and blessings be upon him) seated me in front of him and placed his hand on the middle of my chest, then said: "Turn around." Then he placed his hands on my back between my shoulders, then said: "Lead your people in prayer. When you lead your people, keep it brief, for among them are the old, the young, the sick and the needy. When one of you prays by himself, let him pray as he wishes."
