أنبأ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللهِ الْحَافِظُ، أنبأ أَبُو الْحَسَنِ أَحْمَدُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عَبْدُوسٍ، ثنا عُثْمَانُ بْنُ سَعِيدٍ، ثنا الْقَعْنَبِيُّ فِيمَا قَرَأَ عَلَى مَالِكٍ، ح وَأنبأ أَبُو عَبْدِ اللهِ الْحَافِظُ، ثنا أَبُو عَبْدِ اللهِ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَعْقُوبَ، ثنا جَعْفَرُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ، وَمُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ السَّلَامِ، قَالَا: ثنا يَحْيَى بْنُ يَحْيَى قَالَ: قَرَأْتُ عَلَى مَالِكٍ، عَنْ نَافِعٍ، عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ أَنَّ عُمَرَ بْنَ الْخَطَّابِ رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهُ رَأَى حُلَّةً سِيَرَاءَ عِنْدَ بَابِ الْمَسْجِدِ، فَقَالَ: يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ، لَوِ اشْتَرَيْتَ هَذِهِ فَلَبِسْتَهَا يَوْمَ الْجُمُعَةِ، وَلِلْوَفْدِ إِذَا قَدِمُوا عَلَيْكَ، فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: " إِنَّمَا يَلْبَسُ هَذِهِ مَنْ لَا خَلَاقَ لَهُ فِي الْآخِرَةِ " ثُمَّ جَاءَتْ رَسُولَ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ مِنْهَا حُلَلٌ فَأَعْطَى عُمَرَ مِنْهَا حُلَّةً، فَقَالَ عُمَرُ: يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ، كَسَوْتَنِيهَا وَقَدْ قُلْتَ فِي حُلَّةِ عُطَارِدٍ مَا قُلْتَ، فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: " إِنِّي لَمْ أَكْسُكَهَا؛ لِتَلْبَسَهَا " فَكَسَاهَا عُمَرُ أَخًا لَهُ مُشْرِكًا بِمَكَّةَ رَوَاهُ الْبُخَارِيُّ فِي الصَّحِيحِ، عَنِ الْقَعْنَبِيِّ وَرَوَاهُ مُسْلِمٌ، عَنْ يَحْيَى بْنِ يَحْيَى.
Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) said that Sayyiduna Umar bin al-Khattab (may Allah be pleased with him) saw a striped garment at the door of the mosque and said: O Messenger of Allah! If only you would buy it, so that you could wear it on Friday and when meeting delegations. He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "This is worn by those who have no share in the Hereafter." Then some garments came to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), and he (peace and blessings be upon him) gave one of them to Sayyiduna Umar (may Allah be pleased with him). Sayyiduna Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) said: O Messenger of Allah! You are clothing me with something about which you (peace and blessings be upon him) said such-and-such. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "I did not give it to you to wear." So Sayyiduna Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) gave it to a polytheist brother of his who lived in Makkah.
وَأَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو عَبْدِ اللهِ الْحَافِظُ، وَأَبُو مُحَمَّدِ بْنُ أَبِي حَامِدٍ الْمُقْرِئُ قَالَا: ثنا أَبُو الْعَبَّاسِ بْنُ يَعْقُوبَ، ثنا الْحَسَنُ بْنُ عَلِيِّ بْنِ عَفَّانَ، ثنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عُبَيْدٍ، عَنْ عُبَيْدِ اللهِ، عَنْ نَافِعٍ، عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ، أَنَّ عُمَرَ رَأَى حُلَّةً سِيَرَاءَ تُبَاعُ عِنْدَ بَابِ الْمَسْجِدِ، فَذَكَرَ الْحَدِيثَ بِنَحْوِهِ إِلَى أَنْ قَالَ: وَقَدْ قُلْتَ فِيهَا مَا قُلْتَ، فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: " إِنِّي لَمْ أَكْسُكَهَا؛ لِتَلْبَسَهَا، إِنَّمَا كَسَوْتُكَهَا؛ لِتَبِيعَهَا أَوْ لِتَكْسُوَهَا " فَكَسَاهَا عُمَرُ أَخًا لَهُ مِنْ أُمِّهِ مُشْرِكًا بِمَكَّةَ أَخْرَجَهُ مُسْلِمٌ فِي الصَّحِيحِ مِنْ حَدِيثِ عُبَيْدِ اللهِ بْنِ عُمَرَ.
Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) said that Sayyiduna Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) saw a striped garment being sold at the door of the mosque; then he mentioned the long hadith. In it, the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "I am not giving it to you to wear; rather, sell it or give it to someone else to wear." So Sayyiduna Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) gave it to his polytheist brother from his mother's side.
أنبأ أَبُو عَبْدِ اللهِ الْحَافِظُ، أَخْبَرَنِي أَبُو النَّضْرِ الْفَقِيهُ، ثنا عُثْمَانُ بْنُ سَعِيدٍ الدَّارِمِيُّ، وَصَالِحٌ جَزْرَةُ قَالَا: ثنا عَلِيُّ بْنُ الْجَعْدِ، أنبأ شُعْبَةُ، عَنْ أَبِي ذُبْيَانَ خَلِيفَةَ بْنِ كَعْبٍ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ الزُّبَيْرِ قَالَ: سَمِعْتُ عُمَرَ، وَأنبأ أَبُو عَلِيٍّ الرُّوذْبَارِيُّ، ثنا أَبُو بَكْرٍ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ مَحْمَوَيْهِ الْعَسْكَرِيُّ بِالْبَصْرَةِ، ثنا جَعْفَرُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ الْقَلَانِسِيُّ، ثنا آدَمُ بْنُ أَبِي إِيَاسٍ، ثنا شُعْبَةُ، ثنا أَبُو ذُبْيَانَ خَلِيفَةُ بْنُ ⦗٥٩٢⦘ كَعْبٍ قَالَ: سَمِعْتُ عَبْدَ اللهِ بْنَ الزُّبَيْرِ يَقُولُ: لَا تَلْبَسُوا الْحَرِيرَ؛ فَإِنِّي سَمِعْتُ عُمَرَ بْنَ الْخَطَّابِ رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهُ يَقُولُ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: " مَنْ لَبِسَ الْحَرِيرَ فِي الدُّنْيَا لَا يَلْبَسُهُ فِي الْآخِرَةِ " قَالَ عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ الزُّبَيْرِ مِنْ قِبَلِ نَفْسِهِ: وَمَنْ لَمْ يَلْبَسْهُ فِي الْآخِرَةِ لَمْ يَدْخُلِ الْجَنَّةَ؛ لِأَنَّ اللهَ تَعَالَى قَالَ: {وَلِبَاسُهُمْ فِيهَا حَرِيرٌ} [الحج: ٢٣] وَفِي رِوَايَةِ عَلِيٍّ وَقَالَ ابْنُ الزُّبَيْرِ: وَذَلِكَ لِقَوْلِ اللهِ تَعَالَى {وَلِبَاسُهُمْ فِيهَا حَرِيرٌ} [الحج: ٢٣] أَخْرَجَهُ الْبُخَارِيُّ، وَمُسْلِمٌ فِي الصَّحِيحِ مِنْ حَدِيثِ شُعْبَةَ.
Abdullah bin al-Zubayr (may Allah be pleased with them both) said: Do not wear silk, for I heard Umar bin al-Khattab (may Allah be pleased with him) say that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Whoever wears silk in this world will not wear it on the Day of Resurrection." Abdullah bin al-Zubayr (may Allah be pleased with them both) would say from himself that whoever does not wear silk clothing on the Day of Resurrection will not enter Paradise, because Allah's command is: "And their garments therein will be silk" [Surah al-Hajj: 23], and on that day the clothing of the people of Paradise will be silk.
أنبأ أَبُو عَلِيٍّ الرُّوذْبَارِيُّ، أنبأ أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ مَحْمَوَيْهِ، ثنا جَعْفَرُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ، ثنا آدَمُ بْنُ أَبِي إِيَاسٍ، ثنا شُعْبَةُ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الْعَزِيزِ بْنِ صُهَيْبٍ قَالَ: سَمِعْتُ أَنَسَ بْنَ مَالِكٍ قَالَ شُعْبَةُ: فَقُلْتُ: عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ؟، فَقَالَ شَدِيدًا: عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَنَّهُ قَالَ: " مَنْ لَبِسَ الْحَرِيرَ فِي الدُّنْيَا لَمْ يَلْبَسْهُ فِي الْآخِرَةِ " رَوَاهُ الْبُخَارِيُّ فِي الصَّحِيحِ، عَنْ آدَمَ بْنِ أَبِي إِيَاسٍ، وَأَخْرَجَهُ مُسْلِمٌ مِنْ حَدِيثِ ابْنِ عُلَيَّةَ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الْعَزِيزِ.
Abd al-Aziz bin Suhayb said: I heard Anas bin Malik (may Allah be pleased with him). Shu'bah said: I asked: From the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him)? He replied emphatically: From the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), that he said: "Whoever wears silk in this world will not wear it in the Hereafter."
أنبأ أَبُو عَبْدِ اللهِ الْحَافِظُ، حَدَّثَنِي أَبُو الْحَسَنِ عَلِيُّ بْنُ عُمَرَ الْحَافِظُ، ثنا أَبُو مُسْلِمٍ عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ سَعِيدِ بْنِ هَارُونَ الْأَصْبَهَانِيُّ، ثنا الْحَسَنُ بْنُ أَبِي الرَّبِيعِ الْجُرْجَانِيُّ، ثنا وَهْبُ بْنُ جَرِيرِ بْنِ حَازِمٍ، ثنا أَبِي قَالَ: سَمِعْتُ ابْنَ أَبِي نَجِيحٍ، عَنْ مُجَاهِدٍ، عَنِ ابْنِ أَبِي لَيْلَى، أَنَّ حُذَيْفَةَ اسْتَسْقَى فَأَتَاهُ دِهْقَانٌ بِإِنَاءٍ مِنْ فِضَّةٍ، فَأَخَذَهُ فَرَمَا بِهِ وَقَالَ: " إِنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ نَهَانَا أَنْ نَشْرَبَ فِي آنِيَةِ الذَّهَبِ، وَالْفِضَّةِ، وَأَنْ نَأْكُلَ فِيهَا، وَعَنْ لُبْسِ الْحَرِيرِ وَالدِّيبَاجِ وَأَنْ نَجْلِسَ عَلَيْهِ " رَوَاهُ الْبُخَارِيُّ فِي الصَّحِيحِ، عَنْ عَلِيِّ بْنِ الْمَدِينِيِّ، عَنْ وَهْبِ بْنِ جَرِيرٍ.
Ibn Abi Layla (may Allah have mercy on him) said that Sayyiduna Hudhayfah (may Allah be pleased with him) asked for water. A dihqan (Persian village chief) brought water in a silver vessel, so Sayyiduna Hudhayfah (may Allah be pleased with him) threw the vessel away and said: "The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) forbade us to drink and eat from vessels of gold and silver, and he also forbade us to wear fine and thick silk and to sit on it."
