أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو طَاهِرٍ الْفَقِيهُ، أنبأ أَبُو بَكْرٍ الْقَطَّانُ، ثنا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ يُوسُفَ، ثنا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ، أنبأ مَعْمَرٌ، عَنْ هَمَّامِ بْنِ مُنَبِّهٍ قَالَ: هَذَا مَا حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو هُرَيْرَةَ رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهُ قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: " إِذَا قَامَ أَحَدُكُمْ لِلصَّلَاةِ فَلَا يَبْصُقْ أَمَامَهُ إِنَّهُ يُنَاجِي اللهَ مَا دَامَ فِي مُصَلَّاهُ وَلَا عَنْ يَمِينِهِ فَإِنَّ عَنْ يَمِينِهِ مَلَكًا، وَلَكِنْ لِيَبْصُقْ عَنْ شِمَالِهِ أَوْ تَحْتَ رِجْلِهِ فَيَدْفِنْهَا " رَوَاهُ الْبُخَارِيُّ فِي الصَّحِيحِ، عَنْ إِسْحَاقَ بْنِ نَصْرٍ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّزَّاقِ.
Sayyiduna Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him) says that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "When one of you stands for prayer, let him not spit in front of him, for as long as he is in prayer he is speaking privately with Allah Almighty; nor to his right, for on his right there is an angel. Let him spit to his left or under his foot, and let him bury it as well."
أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو الْحَسَنِ الْمُقْرِئُ، أنبأ الْحَسَنُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ إِسْحَاقَ، ثنا يُوسُفُ بْنُ يَعْقُوبَ، ثنا مُسَدَّدٌ، ثنا يَزِيدُ بْنُ زُرَيْعٍ قَالَ: حَدَّثَنِي الْجُرَيْرِيُّ، عَنْ أَبِي الْعَلَاءِ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، أَنَّهُ صَلَّى مَعَ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَتَنَخَّعَ فَدَلَكَهَا بِنَعْلِهِ الْيُسْرَى " رَوَاهُ مُسْلِمٌ فِي الصَّحِيحِ، عَنْ يَحْيَى بْنِ يَحْيَى، عَنْ يَزِيدَ بْنِ زُرَيْعٍ، وَأَبُو الْعَلَاءِ هُوَ يَزِيدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ الشِّخِّيرِ.
Abu al-Ala narrates from his father (may Allah be pleased with him) that he prayed with the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), and he (peace and blessings be upon him) spat out phlegm, then rubbed it out with his left sandal.
