أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللهِ الْحَافِظُ، أنبأ أَبُو الْفَضْلِ الْحَسَنُ بْنُ يَعْقُوبَ الْعَدْلُ، ثنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْوَهَّابِ الْفَرَّاءُ، أنبأ جَعْفَرُ بْنُ عَوْنٍ، أنبأ أَبُو حَيَّانَ يَحْيَى بْنُ سَعِيدِ بْنِ حَيَّانَ، عَنْ عَمِّهِ يَزِيدَ بْنِ حَيَّانَ قَالَ: انْطَلَقْتُ إِلَى زَيْدِ بْنِ أَرْقَمَ، فَقَالَ: قَامَ فِينَا رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ بِمَاءٍ يُدْعَى خُمًّا بَيْنَ مَكَّةَ، وَالْمَدِينَةِ، حَمِدَ اللهَ وَأَثْنَى عَلَيْهِ وَوَعَظَ وَذَكَّرَ، ثُمَّ قَالَ: " أَمَّا بَعْدُ، أَلَا أَيُّهَا النَّاسُ فَإِنَّمَا أَنَا بَشَرٌ يُوشِكُ أَنْ يَأْتِيَنِي رَسُولُ رَبِّي فَأُجِيبَ، وَإِنِّي تَارِكٌ فِيكُمْ ثَقَلَيْنِ، أَوَّلُهُمَا كِتَابُ اللهِ فِيهِ الْهُدَى وَالنُّورُ، فَتَمَسَّكُوا بِكِتَابِ اللهِ وَخُذُوا بِهِ" فَحَثَّ عَلَيْهِ وَرَغَّبَ فِيهِ، ثُمَّ قَالَ: " وَأَهْلُ بَيْتِي أُذَكِّرُكُمُ اللهَ فِي أَهْلِ بَيْتِي" قَالَ حُصَيْنٌ: يَا زَيْدُ، مَنْ أَهْلُ بَيْتِهِ؟ أَلَيْسَتْ نِسَاؤُهُ مِنْ أَهْلِ بَيْتِهِ؟ قَالَ: بَلَى إِنَّ نِسَاءَهُ مِنْ أَهْلِ بَيْتِهِ وَلَكِنَّ أَهْلَ بَيْتِهِ الَّذِينَ ذَكَرَهُمْ مَنْ حُرِمُوا الصَّدَقَةَ بَعْدَهُ قَالَ: وَمَنْ هُمْ؟ قَالَ: آلُ عَلِيٍّ وَآلُ عَقِيلٍ وَآلُ جَعْفَرٍ وَآلُ الْعَبَّاسِ قَالَ: وَكُلُّ هَؤُلَاءِ حُرِمُوا الصَّدَقَةَ؟ قَالَ: نَعَمْ" أَخْرَجَهُ مُسْلِمٌ فِي الصَّحِيحِ مِنْ حَدِيثِ إِسْمَاعِيلَ ابْنِ عُلَيَّةَ، وَمُحَمَّدِ بْنِ فُضَيْلٍ، وَجَرِيرٍ، عَنْ أَبِي حَيَّانَ.
Yazid bin Hayyan (may Allah have mercy on him) says: I went to Sayyiduna Zayd bin Arqam (may Allah be pleased with him), and he said: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) stood (to address us) at a watering place called Khumm, which is between Makkah and Madinah. He (peace and blessings be upon him) praised and extolled Allah, admonished and exhorted, and then said: 'Amma ba'd' (Now then): "O people, listen: I too am a human being. Soon the angel will come to me and I will answer him, that is, I will depart from this world. I am leaving among you two things. The first of them is the Book of Allah; in it is guidance and right direction. So hold firmly to the Book of Allah and act upon it." He (peace and blessings be upon him) urged (them) to act upon it and encouraged it, then he said: "And I am leaving my household among you; I counsel you, for the sake of Allah, regarding my household." Husayn (may Allah have mercy on him) asked: O Zayd, who were his household? Were his wives also included among them? He said: Yes, his wives too are included in his household, but his household (meant here) are those about whom he (peace and blessings be upon him) mentioned that charity is not lawful for them. Husayn (may Allah have mercy on him) said: Who are they? Zayd (may Allah be pleased with him) said: The family of Ali, the family of Aqil, the family of Ja'far and the family of Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them). Husayn (may Allah have mercy on him) said: Is charity unlawful for all of them? Zayd (may Allah be pleased with him) said: Yes.
أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو عَبْدِ اللهِ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ أَبِي طَاهِرٍ الدَّقَّاقُ بِبَغْدَادَ، أنبأ أَحْمَدُ بْنُ ⦗٢١٣⦘ عُثْمَانَ الْآدَمِيُّ، ثنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عُثْمَانَ بْنِ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ، ثنا أَبِي، ثنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ بِشْرٍ الْعَبْدِيُّ، ثنا زَكَرِيَّا بْنُ أَبِي زَائِدَةَ، ثنا مُصْعَبُ بْنُ شَيْبَةَ، عَنْ صَفِيَّةَ بِنْتِ شَيْبَةَ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهَا قَالَتْ: خَرَجَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ذَاتَ غَدَاةٍ وَعَلَيْهِ مِرْطٌ مُرَحَّلٌ مِنْ شَعْرٍ أَسْوَدَ، فَجَاءَ الْحَسَنُ فَأَدْخَلَهُ مَعَهُ، ثُمَّ جَاءَ الْحُسَيْنُ فَأَدْخَلَهُ مَعَهُ، ثُمَّ جَاءَتْ فَاطِمَةُ فَأَدْخَلَهَا مَعَهُ، ثُمَّ جَاءَ عَلِيٌّ فَأَدْخَلَهُ مَعَهُ، ثُمَّ قَالَ: {إِنَّمَا يُرِيدُ اللهُ لِيُذْهِبَ عَنْكُمُ الرِّجْسَ أَهْلَ الْبَيْتِ وَيُطَهِّرَكُمْ تَطْهِيرًا} [الأحزاب: ٣٣] رَوَاهُ مُسْلِمٌ فِي الصَّحِيحِ، عَنْ أَبِي بَكْرِ بْنِ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ وَغَيْرِهِ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ بِشْرٍ.
It is narrated from Sayyidah Aishah (may Allah be pleased with her) that one day, early in the morning, the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) came out wearing a black cloak with patterns like camel saddles. Hasan (may Allah be pleased with him) came, and he (peace and blessings be upon him) brought him in (under the cloak); then Husayn (may Allah be pleased with him) came, and he (peace and blessings be upon him) brought him in with him too; then Sayyidah Fatimah (may Allah be pleased with her) came, and he (peace and blessings be upon him) brought her into his cloak too; then Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) came, and he (peace and blessings be upon him) covered him with himself in the cloak too. Then he said: "Allah only wishes to remove impurity from you, O people of the household, and to purify you thoroughly [Surah al-Ahzab: 33]."
